For the record, you don't need to do it if you don't wanna. 99% of the time, we don't get offended over you asking things based on simple social standards. Most people are straight, and it's natural that anyone would assume that coz it's so much more likely. No biggie! That being said, do you. I do appreciate the sentiment to a certain degree, but remember, we're just people. The only people who make a huge deal about stuff like this are generally the activist types (often times, those who aren't even queer, oddly enough). Just saying, no need to coddle or be extra sensitive. Basic respect is all that's required! I actually prefer to be treated as anyone else over having people bend social standards to avoid offense. I just wanna be another person. Married people don't feel the need to ask anyone to modify such a question to "boyfriend or husband," for instance. *shrug!* You can always just ask if a person is in a romantic relationship, or "are you taken/available" being even better. Covers all the bases from the start, y'know? You'll always have people who project their insecurities or personal opinions onto you over insignificant things, but people who assume malice like that will never be pleased regardless. Do you, stay positive, friendly, & respectful, and I'm sure you'll do fine! Stay kind, stranger. Have a wonderful day, & tc!

Yes definitely! Ppl should really stop assuming other’s sexuality or gender. And for ppl who are still confused or still figuring out their sexuality/gender should not feel pressured into putting themselves into a box just so others around them could feel more comfortable

The two most important women in my life are gay. I love your suggestion about asking if "Are you in a relationship?" I can only imagine how many times my loved ones have been put in this spot and "came out" in a casual convo. Thank you for always bringing awareness to so many issues. I never thought of saying it this way. So simple yet so powerful. My daughter was just married to her beautiful wife so this type of convo has come up quite a bit. Even I have work to do. Thank you Chloe.

Where I come from people are homophobic and really judgmental and shaming about it, gay people keep their orientation a secret and may be bullied harassed n sometimes physically abused for it, I remember how everyone tried to shame me for defending my gay friends n family members n how this lil support made such a difference, we need to include n share love not exclude, n I love how you keep doing it in every occasion
@irumflyies61826 жыл бұрын
Fatima Hamdar lol astaghfirallah, do u even know the story of noot ale salaam? How Allah burnt place where gay lived?? How prophet Muhammad mentioned that Gays doesn't belong to him? How quran says beheading is the punishment for homosexuality?
@fatimahamdar81076 жыл бұрын
Irum Flyies im not gette in this islamophobic argument I will instead tell you to go look for the idea of Christianity and Judaism on homosexuality, I am a Muslim a true believer and a hijabi and I see god and islam in terms of love and inclusion, even the punishments you're talking about are theoretical in my belief and can't be carried by anyone but the maasoum, and stories of the maasoums tell you how they never actually punished for any reason like this
@irumflyies61826 жыл бұрын
Fatima Hamdar christianity says, blood shall be upon them until they die .. say whatever, i know its hard for gays and make them not to put god at first place when people attack them..BUT SIN IS SIN AND THIS SIN IS AMOND TOP 5 IN EVERY RELIGION..i mean it says BEHEADING so that means something if you're a true muslim, supporting wrong is also a sin, Hadith!

Totally agree with you! I always get soo uncomfortable when people assume I’m straight but I don’t have the guts to correct them. I like your idea of just asking a person if they have a partner or are in a relationship so the other person doesn’t feel uncomfortable. Actually asking if we have a partner instead of a boyfriend for girls and a girlfriend for boys REALLY helps. How many people would have come out earlier if even in the language are represented? You did a very good job girl. I am bisexual and I totally understand what you mean. It's so rude that straight is the default. It's so annoying that I have to explain myself WHY I don't have boyfriend. The first time questions they ask, when they know I have a girlfriend instead of a boyfriend, is you don't want kids. Do you want no family, why did you do this. And i am so tired to explain myself, for something that shouldn't need explaining.
