Great explaination of the Spirit of the song. Fun to see / hear the drum parts shown for it musical blend. Great 6work Nick. I'm enjoying BBT'S continuance and evolution in sound. Especially loved the 'oneness' expressed you have with Greg. The best bands always have very cohesive Bass player and Drummer synch.

Thank you! Yes, when the bass and drums are locked it is just fantastic.

Those tom fills in the second verse are very Mark Brzezicki of Big Country!

I was thinking Peart and/or Collins, but Mark works too!
@mlhbrx968 ай бұрын
@mremusic999 two of my favs you mentioned! I had recently heard a 12" version of "In a Big County" and it featured Brzezicki doing fills very similar to what Mr D'Virgilio was playing.

The tom fills at 5':20" remind me of Phil Collins on the Brand X song 'Don't Make Waves' - which I love, so all good as far as I'm concerned Nick!
@NDVirgilio8 ай бұрын
I love that whole Brand X record. I played it a ton back in the day and still do from time to time. Phil was on fire back then. Thank you !!!

I see the Roland triggers on your drums in addition to the mics. Did you use both in the recording? Any effects on the triggers?
@NDVirgilio8 ай бұрын
I’ve been messing around with triggers again lately. The Roland triggers along with the TM6 work amazingly well and are easy to use. They were not on for this video. It was just the acoustic drums. But I am planning on doing more in the future. I find it a cool and fun way to marry acoustic and electronic sounds. Cheers to you!

Awesome playing. I’m really looking forward to this album! What’s Evans heads are you using here?

Lovely play through and thank you for the section-by-section talk through. Are the triggers on the toms and snare used for gates?
