I mean, on his own he's not the strongest in terms of damage, but his absolutely huge utility, team support, and the fact that he's still able to hold his own against hordes and elites (bosses and some specials will always be an issue, which is totally fine) means that he's more than fine in my eyes.

WP is fairly average though. Like just because you can true solo with it doesn't mean its good...you can true solo with anything if you're lucky and skilled enough. IB is a fairly good career, it just gets a bad rap because a lot of bad players play it. But I wouldn't compare WP to IB at all, they are not remotely comparable other than they both have high HP and dmg red. "Tanking" in this game isn't like it is with an MMO, it's more just a measure of how many mistakes you can make (and often these classes are more prone to making mistakes with their slow weapons and movement speed while blocking / dodging). Not all "Tanky" characters in this game can even frontline (unchained who is just as good at frontlining as most careers, nothing special) and a lot of the best frontliners dont have much hp or dmg red (battle wizard). WP is most comparable to GK in that they are both support/tank melee only classes that can dish out high DPS against elites and mild DPS against hordes. The chief difference is that WP is a bit more support heavy and GK can DPS bosses (WP boss killing is probably about the third weakest in the entire game just behind Merc and FK). WP is also a little more effective at heavy SV groups because flail and shield goes through shields and cleaves through SV and Hordes more than GK who can get stuck if there's too many SV. Thus...I would say that WP is actually just slightly worse than GK. I don't think the extra support and tanking is really worth giving up the boss damage that GK provides. That all being said...being slightly worse than GK who is a top tier career does not put you in a bad spot. I would say WP is slightly above average but not amazing by any means. And that's a good thing - he's a real breath of fresh air after SoTT.

For one elite, yes, arguably. For a stack of multiple elites, or multiple elites hidden into a horde, then tome become the strongest weapon

@@Greamzih Tome is quite faster, and allows you to one shot if charged. And also what my partner says, in a horde or a patroll, tome has much more aoe damage against multiple elites

​@@Greamzih I prefer tome honestly. Its quick light attacks pierce even chaos warrior armour and you can stagger a clump of armored enemies with a book-charged overhead.

Honestly, attack speed and crit chance is so unconventional, but is such a love note on this weapon. It feels so ridiculously good this way!! And you really don't need the extra bcr. Really great stuff!!!

It's basically the flaming sword but it actually does damage without famished flames. His other best weapon, the 2H hammer, is fairly skill based though and difficult to use.

I think the flail amd shield is fun but I take the hammer and shield for the crowd control if I'm taking a shield. Right now his greathammer is my main weapon on him though. Have you used the dual hammers yet?

Very reliable for hordes that have mass enemies and you're stuck fighting a big group for an extended period of time great defense good offense mix that with the offensive defensive shield ult and you're good too go not to mention your fury heals keeps you tanking for a long period of time I was out of breath just watching that one

35% crit damage is fairly worthless solo (and in general unless your tank killers suck). If you use the +25% stagger then those stormvermin can be stun locked infinitely with H1 from flail. In practice it’s better for the party too

cataclysm 1 is the final unmodded difficulty in vermintide 2. there are three widely run modded difficulties above that: cata 2, cata 3, and deathwish. simply put, deathwish an absurd difficulty multiple steps beyond what the vanilla game can throw at you.
