Oh my goodness. This cake is insanely moist and is the best chocolate cake I have ever had. I used black cocoa and my homemade brown sugar. I absolutely recommend it.

😊 You probably could but I wouldn’t use the glaze for a layer cake…Wouldn’t probably stack correctly. I do have a chocolate butter cake recipe on my channel that is a layer cake if you want to check that out though!

I’m honestly not sure how it would turn out. I have a feeling though it would be quiet a bit drier and probably not as tender of a texture. I feel like honey just doesn’t add as much moisture as sugar does. It’s worth a try though!

Which do you prefer? Buttermilk recipe or chocolate butter recipe?

I like them both but it depends on what type of cake you’re looking for. They’re both good but different types. So if you’re looking for a layer cake then I’d go with the chocolate butter cake. If you’re wanting a 13x9 inch cake with a glaze that soaks in then go with this buttermilk cake. Both good….just determine what type of cake you want.
