How long are you baking between stencil layers though?!? That's the question I'm trying to get answered..... flash cure? 10 minutes at 180?
@resinadao50211 ай бұрын
12-15 min at 180 is sufficient.

is the Benelli sand was used for the white chips or was that a editing error? seems very white in the finished product. would love to recreate this

Yessir, Benelli Sand for the white chips. It does pop against all the other layers.
@Nate-vh7et2 ай бұрын
@ certainly does, did some googling after typing that and the color shows a bit different on my computer screen. Going to use the benelli sand for sure.

Why wouldn’t you separate the slide from the frame before adding the colors?
@Cerakote2 ай бұрын
You could, you just need to be careful about the lines with your stencils. For the sake of perfect continuity with the pattern, we chose to keep frame and slide together.

Flash cure then remove and fully bake

Did they bake the slide and polymer frame at the same time. Or separate after flash cure.

If you noticed at the end it was actually for the mat he laid the gun on at the end to showcase the finished product

Imagine all of the unfortunate people who paid over $2k to get certified just to have cerakote release the tips, tricks and know how in their videos for people to see for free.

You're paying for the marketing and other stuff. Not just "tips and tricks"

@@deeg4599 not really. Because you get way more than what these videos show in the certification.

@@CalebWayneMcCready 16 hours of class time for over 3k (not including lodging)? What does that get you? You buy into their system which works identical to Google. Google gives you seo options. 20% off equipment - than can be made up on the back end. Very basic knowledge - so basic that they offer a separate "advanced" class. Acces to files - files that you can buy online. Maybe 5 actual hours of working time during class. Familiarization of the product literature - which can be found online not reserved for people attending class. Yup you get so much bang for the cost.

@@deeg4599 the amount of people that have found me through the website was worth it alone. I spend well more than 5 hours actually painting in my class. I didn’t spend 3k. I don’t know where you got that from. Customer support from their end is absolute top notch as well. Also. Companies will honor warranties from a certified applicator of their product is damaged from your application. Athlon optics being one of them. You’re not getting their warranty after painting their optic u less it’s from a certified applicator. I spend roughly 12-14 hours actually painting in my class. “You can make that up on the back end” is not a good reason because you can get the oven they recommend at a much larger discount than the class will cost if you go that route. But hey if you only think that a few tips and tricks and some stencil files is all you get then you can believe that.

Cerakote (if properly applied) is actually a very durable finish; probably better than SIG's honestly with the reports of rusting and all holster wearing off the finish
