Chocolate Marshmallow Cookies | Baking With Josh & Ange

Delicious chocolate cookies with yummy marshmallow in the middle!
Chocolate Marshmallow Cookies
• 1 ¾ cups flour
• ½ tsp salt
• ½ tsp baking soda
• ½ cup cocoa powder
• ½ cup butter (softened)
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp vanilla
• ¼ cup milk
• 18 large marshmallow halves
1. Mix flour, salt, soda and cocoa together in a medium bowl.
2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
3. Add egg, vanilla and milk to the butter mixture beating well.
4. Slowly add dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix well.
5. Drop teaspoon sized balls of dough on a parchment lined baking sheet.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Do not over bake.
7. Remove from oven and press marshmallow halves cut side down on top of each.
8. Bake for 2 minutes longer.
9. Remove from oven and cool.
10. Top with your choice of frosting or candy melt.
Candy Melt Instructions:
1. Place your candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in the microwave for 1 minute at 50% power.
2. Stir. They won’t look melted, but that is okay, stir anyway. Place back in Microwave for 30 seconds at 50% power.
3. Stir again. It will still be thick, but stir well for about a minute. Place back in the microwave for another 30 seconds at 50% power.
4. Repeat until you have nicely melted candy melts!

These cookies look simple yet delicious and I like how the melted marshmallows look like icing/frosting. If I were to make these I would put squares of chocolate bars on top of the marshmallows to make them look like double chocolate s’mores cookies.

This is a great recipe! We usually spend most of our time with our family at somebody's house. My grandma cooks and bakes, we play board games... I know there are some great restaurants in Old Town, but I can't remember names. Wichita is a great city, though! Have fun!
