Chocolate Phoenix!

This one is really dear to my heart, as it is a redo of a showpiece done 3 years ago.
It took 5 days and 2000 chocolate feathers to complete.

When I was less burdened with schoolwork(aka never, actually, but who cares?) I used to bake a batch of cookies every few weekends. One time I was out of baking powder, and, naturally, Sugar Sunday couldn't be postponed. So I figured, what the heck, let's try chocolate. Just a simple baker's dozen homemade Reeses cups. I remember mixing in green tea powder into white chocolate as a coloring substitute, using that to draw on the finished treats, the whole silly-but-absolutely-worth-it process. Your straightforward joy whenever you work reminds me of that. You're awesome!

Phoenixes are my favorite. I love the story behind them. it’s like no matter what life throws at you you can always rise from the ashes. It’s got me through a lot of depression throughout my life because no matter how bad it got I can still rise from the ashes and continue on with life. One day I intend to get a tattoo of a phoenix but it’s never been in my budget too many bills. You definitely made the phoenix beautiful. I say you did the magnificent bird justice. ❤
