I use to make a lot of holiday chocolate items with rum, blackberry brandy, etc. I knew what audience would be eating it. But now I don't anymore as most groups you don't always know what their story is. There may be recovering alcoholics or even those that have been sober for many years. One taste could ruin all that. My assumption was also even the non alcoholic food flavors like rum, I thought could even spark the desire for the real thing. Taste is a powerful thing. I recently spoke with a recovering alcoholic who had been sober 8 months abd I addressed my concerns. He agreed that just a harmless artificial rum flavored treat could spark a taste for the liquor itself. Something to consider!

I put the cream in the microwave for under2 minutes . Then test it so its warmer then bath water. Then add the chocolate and cover it with plastic wrap for 10 minutes. I use a whisk and gently stir it up. I cover it up again and let it sit in the fridge or the counter for a half hour. Roll them in whatever you like. I also use it if its left on the counter for the filling for a cake or on top of brownies. Yummmmmm!
