Sewing my made to measure choli blouse to go with my saree for my daughters Indian wedding was a bit tricky as it needed to be tighter than I would wear my normal clothes and the fabric was very fine and delicate. I did a full lining on the blouse and made the lining first as a toile/mockup, which was very useful in getting the final fit correct. I am very pleased with the result and, with my limited knowledge about such things, I think it works very well in the complete outfit :-) I think the embroidered/sequinned trim on the sleeves is the perfect final touch makes the saree outfit look really 'put together'.
Putting the saree on was quite a mission and was only possible with the help of KZbin and the wonderful content creators who share such information! I am far from being competent at putting on a saree to say the least! and it took me 7 attempts to get it on my body in any way that looked similar to the pictures! So please excuse that element of the final reveal. I just thought it would provide better context for the choli reveal than me standing there in just the saree blouse and the saree petticoat. However, for the actual event, I have assurances that the grooms family will help us to dress so I'm sure the final look for the wedding will be loads better. I will take some pictures so you can see how it looks when done properly :-)
