Excellent display of cars. Sometimes it's the color of a car that can make it more special. For example the MG in that lemon color. There are many of them , but some may be in an undesirable color, , like a mustard color. Stunning motorcars here.

As being born in the USA, each of your videos are like a sophomore field trip lecture at an exotic locale to me. I thought I was knowledgeable about proper British cars, rude awakening, I was not! Thank you sir! P.S. Your Youthful Assistant's channel, Car Traction, is also a must view for me. Brilliant capturing of the atmosphere in the Prescott pits actually dredged up emotions I totally forgot about!

Good morning Richard ..... my apologises l'm a late sleeper ! Pick a favourite .....virtually impossible ! I've said before we just don't get the plethora of choices down in the West Country !!!! So here is my selection, in no particular preference . You mentioned the car cleaning ..... my parents ran a pub in the 1960's in Shaldon , Devon . As a 12 tyear old l also valeted cars for pocket money . Regulars were a Jensen CV8 mk3 , which the owner lent to my father whilst on holiday , wheel spin on kick down at 60mph ! and Rolls Royce Silver Cloud lll. Did you not notice the 4seater MGB at 30mins ! That "Paralaneian"(?) was gorgeous ! and the Daimler 4.2 XJ6 that battery fan .....my first outing in my Greensand 4.2 series 2 the alternator failed and coming back from Plymouth to Teignmouth it over charged the battery . I could smell the chloride as l speeded up the A38 at 90÷ ! By the time l got back home l could hear the battery boiling ! I gingerly parked the car in the garage and sensibly decided not to disconnect the battery but open the bonnet ! The next morning it was still boiling ! It was 2 day's before l disconnected the now very dead batttery ! But my favourite wasn't the choice l would ever have normally made but that Plaxton Austin K8 deserved to be my faviurite ....the dedication that people make is priceless ! Thank Richard & Co

We shared similar weather on our Windy City MOG drive upper to Wisconsin on a 76 mile route. Our best turnout since COVID. Nine four wheelers and one trike. Always better to drive than to sit still although gawking has it's charm.

You have asked if there is any car that I would chose to take home. Normally the choice is so great that I cannot choose. This time it is very easy. The Austin 6 is simply top trump & beats all the rest. The rest being a fabulous collection of the finest cars you could ask to see.

The Vauxhall Velox convertible is a Holden bodied Vauxhall Vagabond. Built in Australia by General Motors-Holdens. The standard bodied Velox/Cresta was assembled but Holdens in Australia but the Vagabond was built as a convertible. We also had a Ute body as well. On another uniquely Australian thing is that the Triumph Dolomite Sprint was only available in yellow in Aus.

Quick ID tip for Alfa 1750/2000: the 1750 had a blackened grille with single strips of chrome meeting the Alfa ‘heart’ ; the 2000 had a fully plated grille, with the heart ‘embossed’ (can’t think of a batter word) into the slats. That red one following the TR5 is therefore a 2000. I think.

I remember hearing that the other trick people had for solving the wet distributor problem on the early Minis was to get a metal dinner plate and lash it to the inside of the grille just in front of the distributor. And I don't know if this it is true or not, but I also heard that shortly afterwards, BMC made a small mod and fixed what looked remarkably like a metal dinner plate in exactly that spot. 😄.

Hi from New Zealand, I have recently discovered your channel and am enjoying the content, A lot of cars I have never heard of, thanks. It's not a car I come across very often at all, I'm sure I've featured a Californian - either at a show or perhaps in one of the photo compilation videos that I've put together (eg Rootes Group, NEC, or perhaps the Hillman video). I really like the look of the mid-50s Calis though, very stylish.

Thanks for posting Richard. Wat a great show. I love seeing cars with painted wire wheels whether body colour or silver. For my mind the chrome ones ( especially on Jags), just look a little too "spivish".
@oldclassiccarUK Жыл бұрын
Agreed, we were watching a programme on TV yesterday that featured a BRG Jaguar 420 on chromes and it was just a bit much for us, painted wires it would have just toned things down nicely IMO.

So many cars to choose from, my take home vehicles are 1, the Mk 10 two tone Jaguar Red and grey seen driving in, 2, the Mk 3 Zephyr estate, as a kid in the 60s , I remember seeing these cars at Abbotts of Wrecclesham Farnham Sy, having been converted into Estates. And 3, I'll take home the humble Mk1 Escort van. So rare now. Hard to believe its been 55 years since the Mk 1 Escort was introduced. Although there was an Escort estate in the 50s alongside the Squire. Interesting video, cheers 🍻

Hi, the thing is the vids take time to produce and would soon become out-of-date. I just google events in my area and also check out Facebook etc to find shows I didn't previously know about. I once had a Viva GT, they were completely different to the Brabham Viva. The GT had a 2ltr engine with twin Strombergs where as the Brabham was a tuned 1200(I think) engine.
