Tyrrell's Classic Workshop

Tyrrell's Classic Workshop

Күн бұрын

The LM002 or 'Rambo Lambo' has been an unmissable presence in the background of the workshop for a good while now, and after months of careful restoration, it's time for this fine example to take centre-stage. Few cars come with such a remarkable story of how they came in to being and Iain plots that history of Lamborghini's military aspirations that were doomed to failure before being resurrected as this truly pioneering example of a high-powered off-road 4x4 vehicle that are now so commonplace on today's roads.
With restoration complete, it's time for the car's first road test, but not before a final check on the engine, with the help of new recruit Alex as Iain passes on his skills to the next generation.
00:00 - Introduction and history of the car
08:56 - Engine tuning
16:07 - Road test
24:10 - Outro
And as the channel reaches the milestone of 100,000 subscribers, thank you once again to everyone for the overwhelming reception of these videos and for all the support of likes, subscribes and wonderful comments.

Great to see your young ‘sorcerer’s apprentice’ being inducted into the tuner’s art…. The reason your channel is being so successful is not only your extensive knowledge but how you deliver it to your viewers, you treat us as adults as does Harry Metcalf (Harry’s Garage) and long may both your success continue 👍

I also think that Hagerty guy like Magnus Walker and the guy who talks about barn finds also has similar delivery. Does anyone has recommendation for other channel?

I lived close to where the Norwegian importer of Lamborghini was located in Oslo in the mid 80's. It was right behind the Frogner Park (equivalent to Hyde Park/Kensington Garden in London) and the site was/is actually an old farm. At one point, they had parked three brand new LM002s on the footbridge up to the barn. It was truly an impressive sight :)

One of my favorite Lamborghinis, but it looks so ..."off", with the narrow wheels & tires vs. the standard Scorpions and the wheels they came mounted on. Nice one Iain! In the early 90s I worked for the BeeGees (I'm a musician) and spent a lot of time at their studio on Miami Beach. Maurice Gibb used to turn up in a metallic brown Porsche 928 which, apparently, had previously belonged to Ferdinand Porsche's son. However, one day he arrived in one of these, in silver with red leather interior and insisted on taking me for a spin round the block! The engine sounded fab but you could really feel the weight and it rolled a lot. He'd p/ex'd it for the Porsche at Miami's Auto Toy Store - it had previously belonged to an Arab Sheikh and still had the mounting ring for a heavy machine gun in the back! He kept it for a few weeks and then got the Porsche back! 😁 Happy days, and RIP to a lovely man. ❤️

This was the first Lamborghini I ever saw in person, and in Nashville,TN of all places too. I was with my father and we drove past a fancy hotel, I noticed it, and said go back so we can look at the Lamborghini. He said there wasn't a Lamborghini there because he was thinking of the Countach that I had on my wall. We went back , and I showed him the "Rambo Lambo" to which he was very surprised that such a thing existed,Haha. I read A LOT about cars back then ,and still do now too ,of course.

Late 90s my mom so very nearly bought one of these. Test drove it multiple times. Such a cool car. It was the actual LM002 that featured the famous picture of it towing a Countach. In the end she didn't take it, purely because the clutch was too heavy for her. Driving in constant stop/start traffic didn't make sense with that Clutch.

Absolutely fascinating video - I recall this car very well and it is close to my heart because in the late 1980s I experienced some horrendous medical problems over a 2 year period including several months in skull traction….I read quite a few car mags at the time with one including an in-depth feature of the LM002 - I thought to myself I must fight and fight to get better and rejoin that wonderful world, beyond my hospital bed, that is able to create such gloriously daft but desirable trinkets as a V12, petrol fuelled, 3 tonne, dune buggy….it was an inspiration and proof that life was worth living and fun!
