Visiting Honyadong is indeed like wandering into a fantastical dream. You have described this scene so well. This is like an ancient place transported into the current world. The daily hyper activities make this place the top attraction in Chongqing. Most of the visitors are local tourists from other provinces in China. My family and I were outnumbered by the avalanche of local tourists.

10.30pm Lights-Off for Skyline buildings across the Jialing River 11.00pm Lights off at Hongyadong. The shops and eateries remain open but the enchanting lights will be switched off. You need to go on the next night to see the lights. If you want to go on the bridge to take photos of Hongyadong, you need to walk by the main road, enter road tunnel, then go up the bridge. Better to ask people for directions.
