Love the idea of being able to adjust pedal heights for future wheels for road and trail riding, or even having different heights for each side for oval tracks. That would be a game changer.

I think there will be smart EUC suspension at some point - that moves the pedals, in real time, with road conditions (using an array of drone type camera sensors on wheel). I figure suspension like this would allow a custom choice of pedal height, within a certain margin. this could also allow for a staggered pedal height, like you suggested for rolling around a track. I rode my S18 around with the right pedal higher than the left - I was trying all pedal positions and figured why not? I didn't hate it - made for an interesting ride. I did end up just putting both S18 pedals at the highest position for max ground clearance

Don't know if you noticed but just as you hit those ruts in the road before you tumbled... a truck drove by and the ruts were in the trucks shadow. Looks like the shadow made it difficult to judge the actual depth of the ruts. I've had a few close calls hauling ass going under roadway over passes, you are in the shadows you think you see a dark patch that's flat but it's really a frikin' pot hole. I guess that's how we learn to stay focused.

Do you think that a mud/snow scraper frame wrapping around the back of the tire, would be of value? Something that would keep the thickness of the debris building on the tire to a thickness less than the gaps between the tire and housing.

So if I actually went about buying my first wheel I’m deciding between the king song 16x and the s18 with the suspension which would y’all choose even if you weren’t new to riding and wanted the best between the two which would you choose?
@bobrob88273 жыл бұрын
@@grb1969 Yeah you make a good point, but I guess my plan was to buy a protective cover while I’m learning hopefully it would do enough to protect it I’d think.
@urthpainter3 жыл бұрын
imo - between those two wheels, I'd go 16x. it has a lot more battery and range, and more battery also means a longer time spent in the 'safe zone' where you can get max performance from the wheel. 16x is many generations into manufacturing, and has less moving parts that can go wrong. It is very easy to transition from a non-suspension wheel to a suspension wheel. It is not easy to transition the other way around. Lastly - I own a S18, and while I like it, I do not consider it a performance wheel. It's battery is too small to ride it hard for more than 15 miles, then you really gotta back off (below 50% battery). The 16x can easily double that range before having to ride with more caution at low battery. While I do not own a 16X, I started on the 18XL - and it has similar ability to the 16X with the same motor and battery size. I went 18XL as more of a road cruiser, where as the 16X is a better off road wheel with the wider tire and more available torque.

Hey man would you suggest a noob getting a decent used Electric unicycle or buy new? And if used where’s the best place to find them? Not Facebook there’s literally one in CO. Craigslist you can forget about too. There seems to be a flood of new stuff but no ones selling??? Anyway thnx for the great videos

I would suggest the black 420wh kingsong 14d we have at ewheels right now. I had a unicycle much slower and had a ton of fun with it. I think starting slow with a 14 d or 16s new will satisfy you for a long time, you can beat them up like crazy and they will keep going. Getting something brand new for under 1k is also nice

only buy used if you live somewhere like nyc or LA where you got options because shipping these things is ridiculous unless you have a company deal with a shipper like fedex.

Is this MSX your main off-roading tire these days? I'm considering an RS High Torque or a V11 - with an interest in off roading. I found the RS to be more wobbly than the MSX I rode a few months ago. Friend recommends a Sherman. Maybe I should be looking at an S18? Who knows. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
