G45 for several reasons: I have one with an SCS, value, reliability, magazines cost and availability, I can conceal fairly easily, and finally simplicity. I installed the Glock Performance Trigger, it feels great and shoots great.

👍👍🇺🇸 Always appreciate Hammer with the spot light. Most channels do not shine spot lights and regardless of lighting, showing a black item washes out the lines making the pistol difficult to see. Stay safe and dry.

Great review, thanks for sharing. I am happy to say that I have the best of two worlds; I have them both in my carry rotation and find myself always reaching for the G45, still the 229 is no slouch.

I’d go sig without red dot. Prefer da/da pistols, and 229 is great, like Glocks but G45 with 17 round grip is just too long.

Thanks for the comparison! I love Sig. My next pistol is Sig P226. But in this scenario, I'm happier personally, with my G45 as one of my main carry guns over the 229. I use night sights and prefer basic reliability so the G45 is my pick. Absolutely nothing wrong with the 229 and I would recommend that to others as well.

The 229 in 40S&W was one of my favorite guns out of the box. I'm thinking of getting the Glock 19x or 45 or Browning High Power; if I go back to 9mm.

I've wanted the P229 in 40 forever, and when I finally had the money to buy it, they discontinued it and switched to 9mm. Still got it in 9, and super happy with it, but would've much rather had it in 40sw.

I don't know why people always make it seem like Glocks are this hideous looking utilitarian Gun. I think Glocks are nice looking, especially the GEN 5's with the front serrations. I'm always proud to pull out one of my Glock's at the range. I wouldn't even buy a gun that I don't think was esthetically pleasing to me. But to each his own.

I’ve shot lots of pistols and the only time I noticed bore axis being a “issue” was on hi points. Other wise sig DA/SA are my favorite semi auto pistols

Sig is a classic , which means it’s very non ambi, especially with that decocker on a DA SA pistol. The gen 5 glock , like the HK VP9, Echelon, PDP , FN509, Masada etc is much more ambi friendly , especially withthe ambi slide release which P226, 229 etc do not have! For these reasons , If I wanted a modern DA SA pistol, It would be an HK P30 which is fully ambi!
