Ultimately this conversation is entirely about free will and living with the consequences that come with it. When Loki brushes aside the timekeeper dogma, he outright asks Mobius himself. "How do *you* choose?" It's not the timekeepers doing the pruning. The hunters are the ones who do. They can use the timekeepers as a scapegoat all they want but at the end of the day, the hunters are the ones going out into the field and making those choices. And Mobius responds with another simple answer: If he doesn't, more people get hurt. There is no comfort, there is no healing. Scar tissue. Mobius has to live with the psychological trauma - his burden. That's what it means to have free will. It means to live with the consequences of your actions, good or bad, and it's ultimately what Loki sacrifices himself for. As the god of mischief. Of chaos. And finally, time itself.
@AgentExeider8 ай бұрын
And that is the lesson the show implies heavily but never outright comes out and says. Like when He Who Remains says "I make the hard choices, so I get the big chair." seemingly flippant. But when he talks about why he wanted to leave the job, and S1 Loki says "Why? you have all that power, all that freedom?" And that was the point I remember talking to my TV saying. No,Loki, he isn't free, in fact he is the most imprisoned. Because the job. Someone MUST ALWAYS be there to do the job. It MUST BE OCCUPIED, For all time...Always. WIthout fail, or fault. Like the Flying Dutchman from POTC, It must ALWAYS have a captain. The same thing here, it can never be without someone for any moment, any length of time. For that's all that is needed to make everything undone. This is why the TVA's motto is: "For all time, always." It's not a promise of dedication, its a warning of what will happen if they don't.
@dragodraco75118 ай бұрын
@@AgentExeideranother thing is the TVA always deleted the timelines,which is like restricting the flow of branches,but Loki held all the timelines letting them grow like a tree,means giving them freedom to grow however they like,good or bad

@@dragodraco7511 and instead of carrying the burden of destroying so many timelines, he carries the burden of all the infinite atrocities and injustices that happen on them, tying back into Mobius's words. Is it better than obliteration? In most cases, yes. Still, when there's a universe where the Snap is never reversed, or like the Infinity Ultron one from What If..., or any universe slowly dying to an incursion - all that suffering is still Loki's burden now. Even if its a better outcome than pruning, it still hurts.

@@alextrill1746 thats what means to have a balance The TVA never worked or the existence of the whole multiverse never worked as good or bad as in morality,it meant to sustain existence as a whole,to prevent the destruction of whole.Loki just did the job by not letting timelines destroy,and to sustain the multiverse,by letting each and every timeline grow
@Nyghtking6 ай бұрын
@@alextrill1746 Whats even worse is we know he's aware of everything happening in every timeline he's holding, so not only would he know those things are happening, he may vary well have no choice but to bear witness to them as well. It's one thing to do something like press a button and launch a nuke at a city you've probably never heard of and probably would have never gone to, knowing what you've just done, but there's at least some distance there, it's another to be forced to watch everything up to and after the impact of the bomb you fired, every fearful person, every crying infant, every stampede as they try to get away, every person trying to hunker down and praying to any god that might be out there to save them, seeing the people be consumed by the blast, the bevistation it causes, and watching the aftermath and the suffering you ultimately inflicted on them as many will slowly and painfully die. Thats basically what he may have to live with for all eternity, the only comfort is he also witnesses the good there is.

Notice when the spaghettification at the end happens. Mobius’ hands vanish when Loki is holding it. That’s the moment when he knew he bears the burden of fighting alone to save his friends. Remember when Loki told Sylvie that he doesn’t want to be alone? That he wants his friends back? His burden is the loneliness. That loneliness is illustrated here when Mobius disappears right in front of him, while he’s holding Mobius’ hand. He had to let go of his friends and choose the burden of loneliness to save everyone. And this is the moment when he’s gradually realising it. The metaphor is so subtle yet meaningful I love it! The soundtrack was also on point. It is packed with a complicated emotions. A sense of helplessness of fighting alone, realisation that his friends were guiding him all along, acceptance of reality, gratitude to his friends, sadness because of the loneliness he would face, with a strong determination of making the hard choice. I think Loki has been considering the option for some time, to break the loom and replace it with himself. He just needs his friends to somehow give recognition to that decision before he does it to somehow feel this decision is “supported” by his friends. Even though in the later scenes we saw that it was hard for Mobius and Sylvie to let go of him too.

Mobuis loves to jet ski at the lake😢😢😢 Loki heard this story and gave his friend TVA Mobuis "a" happy ending, watching his variant with his sons 😢😢😢 And loki probably relived rewind this conversation with Mobuis a hundred times before he was ready to let go. Mobuis is Loki's only real true friend who ever really really cared for him😢 Growing up thor and his band of merrymen bullied him, which explained why loki is so messed up in his head.
