I think you folks have done quite well. Being self-sufficient is more than a full-time job. I have been curious about your community. Not that everyone would be comfortable being filmed, but it may be of interest to other viewers as well. Something like a trip to the feed store or farmers market or a swap meet. My family and extended community share resources, skills and grunt labor if that is all one has to offer. The richness of the interaction, if nothing more than sharing a joke and laugh, is the gold in your soul. Stay cool down there. It is cold up here. 🙃

Pascal, You’re doing a fantastic job juggling all the duties you’ve assumed. A Mom’s job can be thankless, my wife says. So don’t forget to take some time for yourself too. That Cherry-Brandy sounds wonderful 😋. Regards, Paul & Natacha 🇬🇧

Next time, save some of those large broccoli leaves. They make a good poultice for sore muscles. Bruise the leaves, smear on some lard , apply to where it hurts and secure with a wrap like stick-to-itself elastic.

This was a truly lovely video and it demonstrates just how well you two have adapted to your new life style. You have become masters of your environment and with the addition of Constance, who by the way appears to be growing rapidly, that is no easy task. I know it takes awhile to regain the physical strength and stamina lost during pregnancy and delivery but you will get there I'm certain. You are a strong woman and it's obvious that Troy is sharing in your recovery and taking a hand at baby care as well. I pretty much suspected that he would be a great father. You two make a fascinating team.

It seems in America most of what we find for canning jars are made by ball or mason. I would so love to know where I can purchase jars like that. Love this little video and your very lovely family. Those cherries look delicious

Such a peaceful and calming video of your contented life on the land, with the background sounds of native birds during their dawn chorus and busy chatter on your walks with your sweet baby Constance. Just wondering if your cats roam free outside during the day and if so, do they catch or harm the birds on your property? (spoken as a native bird lover)..Many thanks for sharing your lovely life on your property with your beautiful daughter.. :)

Lovely. All the best from the US. (I have to chuckle occasionally b/c I think "summer? but there is snow outside" and then remind myself) The gardens look amazing. I took your advice building a no dig garden and also planting a few fruit trees this spring. As always, be well.
