I’m loving the honesty of “when your 881 is broken your f&&ked” 😂 great comparison!!

For milling, 880/881 by far, even if you're cutting only thing 25-30" across. You don't get just substantially more longevity out of the tool, but also faster cutting speed than 100cc or smaller saws. The most important thing is tuning the carb for milling, I had to put my 881 H jet 1/2 turn out from the stock maximum richness to make the mixture rich enough for milling and to keep the temps down. I also use 33-25:1 mix ratio with synthetic oil, that also makes a big difference in milling longevity. Probably the biggest impact by far.

The 881 makes sense, a whole 30 more cc’s over a 661

Nice review! I just bought a 661 for firewood/milling so I guess we have the same opinion about it. I had chance to see the 500i and try it and have to say it's really light compared to its power. Anyway I like the 661 very much.

Sounds like the 661 would be best for me. Lots of fire wood and i plan on building my own cabin plus i mess around with carpentry work more times than not. Ive got some old saws that need a full update so that can be used for cross cutting and fire wood if i have the 661 hooked up to the mill constantly

Some protective gear would be nice, can not take it back ( the moment) once it has happened. Like your review still the same.
