Is the choice of leather dependent on the type of Bible that is rebound. For instance, I am looking to rebind an NIV Archaeological Study Bible, about 3” thick. I want this to be a forever rebind, but am not knowledgeable enough to know how to select the options. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I will always recommend Rivergrain goatskin from Siegel Leather as a choice for any bible :)

I know it will vary, but would it be safe to say the general rule is: 2oz Goatskin for the outside 1oz calfskin or lambskin for the liner?
