You people always making the corners look easy. I struggle with corners. Awesome video and craftsmanship.

Trust us. We struggle with them too. If hardcover bibles were more popular it would be the only way we would make them lol

@@TheFridayForge I would love to work on some hardcover books. I’ve thought about going to my local library and seeing if I could help repair their books for some experience. I’m working on my third Bible today and appreciate the content you’ve posted.

What kind of leather for cover and source? Your video was top notch in production. When I read "First try at rebinding" I almost skipped this. However, as someone considering this as a "hobby/side gig," I am glad I didn't. Thank you so much!

I have my grandparents old bible with the old cardboard type cover (1970s) and its starting to crumble... other than sentimental, it has no value. So I thought Id try my hand at repairing it. After watching your video, i have decided against it ! But you did a wonderful job on both the Bible and the video ... Bravo well done !!!

Thank you! We appreciate your hesitations. We still get nervous every time we deal with other people’s bibles. You never want to ruin it. That’s why we more often just make our own to sell. That way if we mess up. It’s no big deal.
@rjhall571223 күн бұрын
@TheFridayForge I don't think I could ruin it 😆 it just with its stiff and deteriorating cover it makes it difficult to use ... but I have decided to use it the best I can, for as long as I can. You have a blessed day !

what is that fiber paper/cloth you put on the spine called and where do I get it?
@TheFridayForge2 ай бұрын
It's called a few different things, but this is what I used: amzn.to/4fMiH4v They call it super. Some people call it mull. Either way, it works pretty well for what I'm doing :)

What material is the liner? I have been using leather for both clver and liner But you seem to have used a stiffer type of paper rather than leather for the liner
@TheFridayForge4 ай бұрын
Great question. It’s a designer leather from Tandy. The blue makes it 100% not look like leather lol

Awesome job! Im practicing to repair my wifes bible. If it looks half as good when I'm done, I'll be happy. How did you get the holes around the corners so evenly spaced? Do you have a round punch?
@TheFridayForge3 ай бұрын
Thank you! For punching the holes I just used the stitching chisels that came in this set: amzn.to/3RvAVuW When it came to the corners I just used the smaller chisels. Good luck! It’s nerve wracking but very rewarding when you’re finished 😊

i loved how it turned out! i really need help in my bookbinding so i hope this gets answered. what material did you use for your liner? how thick is it?
@TheFridayForge4 ай бұрын
So the liner is leather as well. It’s a bit thicker than I think is typical. It was just some that I already had. We’ve done a few bibles since this one and we’ve been using .5 mm thick leather for it. It’s been working great so far 😊
