I love your honesty, man! A great episode telling the truth about rubber straps. The orange strap looks great on the Zodiac, it picks up the orange in the chapter ring. Of my strap collection, my favorite is a tropic rubber strap I got on Aliexpress for $10 - good looking, comfortable & well made. I'm wearing it on my Tudor BB58 and have received many compliments on the pairing. I had to trim the end as it was too long. My 2nd favorite is a Barton silicone which I wear on my Glycine Combat Sub. It came with 3 pieces (short and long ends) so it fits perfectly. You don't have to spend big bucks to get a good strap.

Love that Zenith Tony…! Beautiful daily piece….Looks good on that green strap…..Thanks for all the straight forward watch talk…. By the way, I got a ton of straps and I keep them in a couple 370 lure boxes I buy at Bass Pro Shops and you can lay them out flat ….. I put the two pieces together with the keepers and that’s how I store them…. I have a couple boxes like that and they work great….Also, if you go to Holben’s straps you can purchase waterproof leather straps like DiModell makes, because I personally do not care for rubber straps and they are great ….Greg

Great topic for a video Tony. Straps can be very expensive and cheap ones can be junk. It's nice to find a sweet spot between quality and value. I've been looking at Doxa watches recently and I'm still unsure whether I want one with the bracelet or rubber. You've got me thinking rubber may be the choice!
@talkingtimepieceswithtony Жыл бұрын
Thanks man!! I definitely prefer rubber over a bracelet. Unless it’s Rolex. Best of luck in the Doxa! 🤙🤙

Hey Tony good review. The Zenith looks great on the khaki. In your opinion what makes a rubber strap worth over $100? I hear other enthusiasts say they only buy RubberB. I wonder if this is only BECAUSE of the high price point!! (I hear Average quality and terrible customer service)…

Question for this week- Do you know what eventually happens to the exhibition models in the display case? At my local AD the display case is always rotating every week or two and when I got on the list a few months back and was trying watches on all of these watches had movements. Do they sell these watches that other people have tried on in the display case? If so does someone know this because obviously they have already been de stickered and the person would see that

Personally I feel rubber straps need to be fitted to case and on a deployant. Have a few WatchGecko Zuludiver's non fitted with a deployant which are nice and thick with a nice double sided texture which work well if the lugs do not leave a big gap.

Hey Tony! Welcome back, looking forward to hearing what you created in Nashville. Watching this vid, I was struck by your tattoos and have a two-part question: 1) What tattoos do you have? Would love to hear you talk about them. 2) How do your tattoos influence what watch you purchase? (for example - I love the Tudor GMT with Opaline dial but wearing it on my tattoo-sleeve it just doesn't 'look' right). Does this ever happen to you?

i cannot find a rubber strap for my new Santos medium. Seems richmont lawyers are threatening to sue anyone copying their quick release system.

That sucks! I had a strap made for my Santos Large. It took 4mo’s and was $400. Unfortunately there aren’t many options for the Santos.

When u cut the end of the strap, look into getting a gouge. Its a kind of chisel. Will give a nice rounded edge on the rubber straps. Ive used one a few times and it works really well.

Sup Tony. I’ve been thinking about putting a rubber on my Omega Seamaster. Do you think the Omega OEM rubber strap is any good? It’s 300 bones so I’d hope so. Not that the cost really matters, I just want a nice comfortable silicon or rubber strap for the watch. Anyone else out there who has experience with the Omega OEM rubber strap feel free to chime in. ☺️ thanks. Maybe I’ll check out Archer. Oh forgot to mention it’ll have to be a pretty big rubber to fit my 8.3-incher 😉😉🍆
