Hi Olivier: I just wanted to ask you a question based on the reply you gave me in your previous video. What are the dynamic limits with the Una Corda? You said that soft sounds are trickier to control with the keyboard action. Is this what you have experienced?

You can see 2 "missed pp intonations" at kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYWYi4h4adl2mrM, I hit the C# too gently - the hammer doesn't reach the string and is silent - and in my head if I'd hit it "harder" it would sound too loud - so I'm "at the limit" when playing really quietly. I'm no piano technician, so take what I'm saying with a grain a salt, it might be fixable with some voicing (and of course with better playing), I'll ask next time I have a technician around (by the way, because the piano has only one string per key, it's relatively easy to tune yourself - but I think it has some impact on the range of possible nuances as well)

@@pianoelektro It's literally an action adjustment...most new pianos deviate slightly, as this is on the edge of control it seems like it's pretty normal.

It is realy interesting to hear differnt interpretations. Does this piano a full octave range? You habe a lovely touch, sometimes more rare, technique can be leaned with discipline, you can't be taught emotion, only gifted with it. This piano, as an instrument lacks contrast, though I noticed. .. not your playing. I haven't played this in and, I feel insplired to go and dig out my nocturnes right now, so thank you for that./ a short bodied 60's jazz Yamaha, not the best either for Chopin, but great for jazz and Bach Forgot to say, this piano has a slight harpichord feeling to it, Xx

Thank you very much! This piano has 64 keys so I took some liberties with the octaves. And it has only one string per key (usually there are 3), hence the harp feel to it...
