Suddenly I am homesick or I feel a strong sense of nostalgia for my bedroom in Amsterdam. I am hearing my mother play Chopin, my door is open and I feel safe. Thank you Paul. She didn’t play as well as you do. But then that didn’t matter. Much love from an old Dutch lady in California ! 💕🇳🇱

This is my favorite Chopin. Whenever I hear it, I want to pause what I'm doing and escape into it. It floats a little bit off the ground and then drifts away. I wonder how Chopin felt about it.

Me too... idk why I always admire and maybe even prefer every no. 2 of almost every Chopin nocturne opus like this op. 27 then op. 15, op. 32, op. 37, op. 48, op. 55, and op. 62. Maybe because their no. 1 are always being (over)played and many pianist rarely playing the no. 2?

I remember having sat by his tomb and spoke him.... Fréderic, why did you do it so difficult the nr 1 Studio? Fréderic, I love the deep energy that emerges from your musical phrases.... I was a teenager then, my mother watched me half amused, half surprised. Yes, I was THAT kind of teen that got emotional at classic music and did not need a smartphone to communicate..

Good Lord, your phrasing resonated with mine own sensibility--yet was most pleasantly un predictable. Thought I had a legit criticism re: interplay of left hand vis-a-vis right hand melody within the development; however, you revealed your intentions later on down the path you were leading us. Inspired by your effortless proficiency. Did you ever use the una corda pedal thought, throughout the piece--I find myself using it too much perhaps, a crutch?

Very good interpretation as always... May i confess that i prefer a tempo a bit more "lazy" for this nocturne. But as you already said, tempo is a very subjective choice... (one of my favorite nocturnes however :-)
