Vincent van Gogh painted The Starry Night one year before dying.
Chopin composed his popular Nocturne when he was about twenty.
it does not matter if you think that it is too late for you or that you still have a lot of time...you have to decide whether you are Chopin or van Gogh.
The idea behind these videos is coming from a research published by the Psychology Department of Berkeley University studying the relation between colors, emotions and how external stimuli are impacting decision making.
The study results demonstrate a strong correlation between faster music in minor tone and the choice from participants of colors from that were saturated, yellower and lighter whereas a slower and minor music produced the opposite pattern (choice of desaturated, darker and bluer colors).
Based on these findings, we wanted to create synesthesia in our videos and trigger more intense and long-lasting emotions in our viewers, get higher audience retention and interaction. We decided to do that by associating drawings from the major painters that were following the scientific findings of this research.
The choice of these paintings and the consecutive association with the music is also based on an accurate work that requires significant time and energy.
The analysis of the melodies returned to us a lot of information on how the painting should have been made. We needed a simple blue pattern but with an intrinsic meaning. Something that people could watch for a while without really understand it.
By creating this video I tried to do only one thing which turned to be the most difficult one: make you feel an emotional synesthesia.
When hearing the melody, don't you feel that everything is...blue? aren’t you lost in the sky? is your mind going over? It’s not for no reason.
it is not only an image, it is not only a melody. It is a trip.
You don't feel bored. Its your mind using the notes and the colors to create your own experience.
Most of the videos online with only one image are only music, but not this.
The research behind the perfect combination is the key for the unconscious.
The research:
"Music-color associations are mediated by emotion"

Except something didn't seem right. You don't see where your home went, looking back. You hear a voice above and below you. You look both of these directions, only finding a void. You scream into the void, the void screams back. You wake up in the comfort of your own home. It was all just a terrible nightmare. You look outside, all you see is a beautiful landscape. You are refreshed.

Fun fact: For those who are wondering why is Chopin's music connected with Van Gogh's paintings it is because they were both born in the romantic era.

I am Polish 🇵🇱. This composition reminds me of the moments when I was weak and vulnerable. Now, I am a more experienced and knowledgeable person with each passing year. My past was not particularly colorful, but this classical music is comforting and brings to mind how my great-great-grandparents struggled before 1945 and how my country has evolved from a commune to a modern nation. This music is my medicine.

It's not just that. It's also that those people don't just listen to your work because they have to or because it is some status symbol. Instead, we yearn for the same beauty and elegance in our messy lives that Chopin perfectly depicts in his music. For me personally, Chopin's work helps me get through anything from homework to anxiety attacks. His work just resonates with people in so many different ways... What a legend!

My kindergarden teacher used to play classical pieces during our 'naps' and I think that heavily influenced my love for classical music years later. At first I was embarrassed about it, thinking people would make fun of me, but now I regret quitting those violin lessons.

It's said that flowers never left Chopin's grave since the day he died in 1849. I went to confirm that myself, and it was right, there was a lot of flowers there, and an electrical candle that seemed like it has been there for long time and someone comes and changes it's battery everytime. The candle's light will continue to shine, and Chopin will live forever in our hearts.

I've been playing piano for over 18 years now and about 90% of my repertoire has always been Chopin, despite my teachers' attempts at diversifying it, despite everyone telling me I shouldn't focus on one composer this much. Well, Chopin still does, and always will make up the vast majority of my classical rep and I will never have any regrets about that. I would be content with just playing nocturnes in my living room at night for the rest of my life.

my mom used to play this, along with other beethoven, chopin, mozart music.. she was soooooo excellent.. but her hands got a bit rusty, she used to say, because she havent played much ever since she became a mother of us three kids. Nevertheless, her ability to read music and play was still super outstanding. Her big dream when she was younger was to become a professional pianist, even got her bachelors degree in music but she couldn't.. since memorizing music was a bit of a problem for her. And she chose to marry my dad and choose the path of a mother. Her passion for music always stayed though. Last year, she was diagnosed with lung cancer and passed away this year on Februrary 1st. Which is also her mother's birthday.. I miss her very much. Too much. I just hope.. she's fulfilling all her wishes and passion in heaven. I can't keep wondering though, what would it be like if mom became a famous pianist instead of marrying dad. Anyway.. if you read this far.. thanks for listening :) 💖

Curiously, this song almost doesn't make me feel anything at first. But around the middle Idk I just have a very faint feeling of satisfaction. I really don't understand, but it's like it is temporarily stopping whatever is worrying me

One crisp evening in Paris, Frédéric Chopin found himself at a lavish masquerade ball. Known for his elegance, Chopin wore a simple black mask that barely concealed his identity. As the night wore on, guests began to whisper about the mysterious pianist playing captivating melodies from behind a grand piano. Intrigued, Chopin decided to join in the fun. He approached the piano, and with a flourish, began to play a playful, spirited polka. The crowd gasped, recognizing the brilliance in his touch. But Chopin added a twist-he exaggerated every note, playing with unexpected pauses and dramatic gestures, making the polka comically grandiose. Guests laughed and clapped along, caught up in the infectious joy of his performance. As he finished with a final, exaggerated flourish, Chopin stood and bowed deeply, his mask slipping just enough for everyone to realize who he was. The room erupted in applause and laughter, the night now marked by the unforgettable, humorous performance of the great Chopin.
