Hi Jane, I like very much your tutorials and I'd ask you at waht time you set the metronome in respect of the final execution tempo, 50% ? Do you set it always at that time regarding every piece ? What's importance in your experience this slow practice ? Many thanks, ciao. Roberto

Roberto Miola This is slow just so viewers can follow the score easily. When I practice, I try to play as closely as possible to the stated tempo. but on the measures where I trip, I play slowly, then gradually speed up, until it catches up with the rest of the piece. Instead of playing the entire piece, concentrate on the difficult sections (circle or notate them with pencil). That is more efficient and saves practice time. But if you wind up feeling the entire piece is difficult, do set the metronome where you can play through it comfortably, then tick the tempo up a tiny bit upon each repeat. Sooner or later you will reach the stated tempo.

Javi Luki Our beautiful beach is in south florida. we walk/jog 5 miles barefoot on the seashore every morning :)
