So awesome! I have so much respect for what you do, both in the classical realm as well as your arranging/composing and your online presence! Keep up the amazing work
Chopin competition be searching for a Chopin reincarnation You don’t need to win this, you already are an artist, you already are cateen, you already are the closest to the definition of a musician the way Chopin would understand it Music is about creation, interpretation, not replacing or reincarnate someone You above this, you are the real artist here, you are cateen

There are many great pianist in existing, rather they’re classical or jazz pianist, but rarely, one can do both classical and jazz in such high levels at the same time. Kudos to you, Cateen !

The only reason because this guy didn't win the Chopin competition is because he is something much more than a perfect interpreter.
Even with all the imagination and prowess of these levels, I *must* comment on the TONE of the First level! Wow. Beatuiful, warm yet crystalline tone and *nuanced* phrasing throughout - and all this with only the pointer finger of the right hand! BRAVO!
I honestly didn't know you before the Chopin Competition and I must admit I was a bit skeptical when I read that a KZbin star was taking part to that competition. How wrong I was! You completely blew my mind, and after that competition (where you have been truly amazing, to the point I would have wanted you to win it) I went to check out your videos and now I not only understand why you became so famous, but also I subscribed and became a fan of your music. You are a true musical genius, thanks for the wonderful music you gift us!

My good man, to each his enthusiasm, however, a well-trained pianist, even if he may stand out from the crowd here and there, is not consequently a "true musical genius". The word genius includes something absolutely unique sublime and in this way not recurring. This can be said of performers for example like Rubinstein, Gould, Argerich. And this unquestionably highly talented young man, whom I also heard in his Chopin interpretations, does not (yet) have that to show, his compositional activity included. When will you people of today learn to properly appreciate the meaning of words, please. Kindest regards
@giacomoguarnieri24612 жыл бұрын
@@Cherzad-Semoja Let me respectfully disagree with your opinion on the matter. First of all, there is not a single definition of "genius". The couple of famous pianists that you mentioned (there are so SO many more e.g. Michelangeli, Arrau, Pollini, Zimmermann.........) are but a drop in the ocean of geniuses that excel in a particular thing. The term "musical genius" for me stands for the broad family of composers, any instrument interpreters (not just piano) etc. Last but not least, since Music is an art, thus not objective like Science, the definition of what is genius and what isn't becomes also extremely personal and subjective. If you don't think this person is a musical genius, that's just fine: neither you nor me have the final truth over this statement. I can simply express appreciation for what I think is a truly exceptional musician (not just pianist).
@Cherzad-Semoja2 жыл бұрын
@@giacomoguarnieri2461 Dear Mr. Guarnieri, you see, that is precisely the problem when the deeper meaning of some even more important words is lost to a large extent due to a culturally not always conducive time in which we live, in which mediocrity, among other things, is suddenly simply elevated to something special. Unfortunately, this has long since become commonplace, which is why many people think they can interpret the word genius subjectively, for example, but it simply doesn't get to the heart of the matter. Just as blue does not become purple, pink does not become red, or even a handbag does not become a wardrobe, haha. Art, too, has to have a certain set of tools in order to be called art. It by no means dissolves into something nebulous in order to be allowed to transfigure everything subjectively. Too "coarse-grained" thinking, then. There is absolutely, and in the natural claim to life, much more behind it. That is why differentiation is necessary everywhere. In my previous message, I described what the word genius means. And that is very much the foremost definition. You are of course welcome to plant your own interpretation in it. But whether or not it's worth being taken seriously by the intellectual elite is a question that is answered all too quickly. In the case of the young pianist in question, by the way, I personally believe that the gentleman does have a spark of genius. But he has yet to show the world to what extent he can develop it, if he so wishes. Kindest regards once again

Dear @@Cherzad-Semoja , you just wrote that in your previous message you gave the "foremost accepted definition" of the word "genius" but I don't find factual correspondence of such claim. Your above rather brief description of that word ("[it] includes something absolutely unique sublime and in this way not recurring.") is hardly callable a "definition" and in any case I would be most curious where did you take it from. Etymologically, there is absolutely nothing in common with what you said, so it must not come from that. Please guide me to some of your "foremost accepted references" (like a dictionary or such, I don't know), so I can check them out. Otherwise, all our conversation (rather polite and respectful I must admit, considering it's the internet) is but an exchange of personal opinions (mine and yours). A fact that not only is fine with me, but is actually my original point.
You probably won't see this but I just want to say how much I enjoy your playing. I first discovered you looking for a passionate Winter Wind piece and discovered you. At that point, I was really burnt out from piano as COVID-19 was at its peak and was losing motivation. I remember listening to your playing and having goosebumps by the sheer emotions in your dynamics. Every piece you post on KZbin is a masterpiece that just makes me shake my head with awe. Thank you so much for making me find passion in piano again.
Number 4 is my favourite. It is in the brightest key and played with the liveliest feel I think.
