@@artivism4068 its his last grand piece, with all of the existing emotions in there, also full of late Chopin counterpoint and harmonization, even his 4th ballade seems overly dramatic in front of this masterpiece

@@ralsei217 I would see it more of how intimate does one know about where Chopin's real mastery is. Most people say it's melody, but that only shows shallow knowledge!

That was his best performance of the competition. He had a story, he related the themes and the passion at the end! Marvellous

Look at Julianna's interpretation of this polonaise compared with Ingolf one, I can't understand how could Julianna win 2010 Chopin competition. In my opinión Ingolf was by far the best....and I think i'm not the only music lover who consider him like the real winner of this competition

@@equilibrio823 Absolutely. His piano concerto in the final was so much better than Avdeeva's. Not that Avdeeva is bad, but she's not worthy of a gold medal in my opinion.

The cutoff between first prize and second (or third) is oftentimes arbitrary. The winner of a piano competition is not necessarily the *best* contestant. Rather, it's the one who offends the fewest judges.

The piano is realy singing and saying. So delicate touch if needed and dynamic when it should be. Colourful and melodic.

one of my favorite compositions by frédéric ....gute tempi! verhaltene, visionäre, aber auch absolute und direkte glücks- und sehnsuchtsmomente beinhaltet diese Polonaise-fantaisie - Ingolf Wunder bringt sie alle total souverän zum ausdruck, zum tragen, zum leuchten!!! danke!

Absolutely GORGEOUS! Everyone plays it very well these days, but THIS is very very SPECIAL. Yes, Ingolf Wunder SHOULD hve win First Prize. Avdeeva plays very well, indeed, but she hasn't the soaring spirit, the glorous sense of majesty, and heartfelt joy we hear in THIS. AND Ingolf has also the advantage of being much better looking than poor Yulianna Avdeeva whose austere, taciturn appearance is frankly rather forbidding. I know we're not supposed to notice things like that, but it can't help be a factor.
