A performance tarnished only by the sound of the dreams of her young competitors in that competition being shattered.

@@hadial-mokdad5322 tbh, it's not a matter of which is better, but to understand that both pieces tell different stories and are unique for your interpretation in each way. At the highest of the highest level, comparing two performances based off of good and bad is an immature perspective of listening classical music.

@@drdarrylschroeder5691 oh, thanks for telling me, when to get emotional and when not. I just have a big passion for the etudes by playing them myself. And these etudes, whilst just being a study, would have never become that famous if they would not stand out from many other technical studys (from Brahms, Moszkowski etc.) if they weren't composed with this amount of brilliant musical beauty at the same time. And for me personally, this particular performance is outstanding, so don't tell me to feel no emotional response please. Best wishes

@@theodorschiel9678 The comment is not meant to be taken personally. It is applicable impersonally in the academic sense to the type of piece which is the study and therefore an exercise as opposed to a nocturne or one of the two concertos. Obviously it was written during the Romantic period. Chopin was part of this despite being an inveterate snob. So perhaps we can finish crying now and get to some honest practice. Best wishes - Rev Dr DHA Schroeder PhD/Ministry

@@drdarrylschroeder5691 I am sorry for taking it personally. It sounded to me like was meant like that, but maybe because there is a lot of nonsense going on in comment sections. I fully understand the context of these pieces of Chopin, thanks for summarizing. Despite that, your name seems to be very important for you, which to me is a sign of either being insecure or taking yourself to seriously. Best wishes

This is perfect .Each finger so strong and to get that evenness a perfectly maneuvered , subtle wrist ! And the entire etude just sings from its weighty bass .Noone sounds like this not Richter or even Pollini .She has imagination and isn't afraid to be subjective something classical music in searching for boring urtext (which ignores music ) has distressingly too little of ! I long for the day when instrumentalists show something of themselves !
