@J_bish874 жыл бұрын
The tank set ups is one of the cooler ideas I’ve seen in a build like this.
@florianf59034 жыл бұрын
I agree! However, I think it would have been safer to place the fuel tank between the chassis structure and the water tank behind the head board. (Right now it’s the other way around.) Therefore, in case of a frontal collision the chance that the fuel tank gets penetrated/crushed by moving cargo on the tray is much lower. (Environmental concerns and fire risk) I think that would be more important then putting the lighter fluid (Diesel) higher than the heavier one (water) for a better center of gravity position. (Maybe that was the original criteria for that decision)
@J_bish874 жыл бұрын
@@florianf5903 that would have to be one hell of a hit to have that tank pierced. I feel like you would have other problems haha. Non the less it’s a cool use of extra storage.

At 2:10 you can see the upper shock mount plate is welded to the side /top of the chassis cross-tube. If you ever run the air bags at low pressures, the shock can bottom out and will rip the mounting plate from the cross member tube and also from the main chassis frame. It happened to my 3rd gen 4runner/Prado 90 series.

This will get you where Troopies dare to travel (smart centre of gravity/weight metrics👍🏻👀) - I’m starting my 2010 Hilux 1600 mm canopy kit out after just making across the border from VIC to SA to pick up the canopy in Laverton. In terms of kit out Shauno I’m doing mine incrementally with a few shorts trips in SA to see what works for me - Redarc (thanks to your review), Engel, Lithium battery system with solar, gravity-fed water tank, GME comms/two aerials etc. This should then ensure a good setup for the first big touring WA/NT trek 2021 - anyway my five cents worth - John in SA

Specifically thinking a slide in/slide out module. Small pony beer keg with tap. Slide out pizza oven setup. Slide in /slide out food processor/mixer for tropical umbrella drinks for the tropics - not sure of all the different combinations you could go for - but the commonalities would be slide system, electric hookups, propane hookup capability and something that you can store easily back in the shed? found the channel in the last few weeks and been enjoying it from the USA. A lot of your country is similar to where I learned to wheel - the desert east of San Diego (Anza Borrego Desert State Park) - great stuff, keep up the content! (and hopes that Mason, your youngest fan is doing well with his treatment. Lots of Legends stepped up with funds - glad I was able to chip in too!)
