Sarah is a Real Truck Driver riding around with No Air in Her Seat(if it has a Air Seat), Driving like all the Cool Kids! I remember the First Time I got Pulled Over in a Semi, Officer Asked Me why I didn’t have My Seat Belt On, I asked Him how He knew that I didn’t, I didn’t have Hardly Any Air in My Seat. The Only thing He could have see was My Head sticking above the Door. That was back in My Younger Days. I was Impressed with Her Learning/Driving Skills in the KW. She Learned better than some people I have seen before! Sarah & The Rest of Your Kids are Good People, I still give Your Wife the Majority of The Credit though Andy! Ha!

Great video! I always put a little bead of silicone between the anvil and the shearbar, it eliminates vibrations during the setting of the shearbar and won’t trip your knock sensors as easy witch gives a more true set. Also always tighten & torque the centre bolts first when mounting the shearbar. If you tighten / torque the outside first the centre one is more likely to break. The silicone will also eliminate vibrations between anvil and shearbar while chopping witch makes it less likely to have bolts back out or snap

What a pain with the wire. We had a tray we drove around behind a tractor on two wheels that had a powerful electromagnet in it. That much stopping would be infuriating. Was just thinking you could use what metal detectors use to find their quarry--a pin pointer. I know you couldn't use on the metal head, but when you pull a big wad of hay out of the head, the pin pointer could find it with a lot less hassle. You'd still be on your own on the chopper head. Good video Andy!

It would be nice to be able to either have a way to identify and separate metal from the chopped hay as it is processed or some way of surveying the land and picking up the metal. I suppose there isn't much need so the research, design and development costs would out weigh the sales potential. Just bad luck to get hooked up with a piece of land that involved old fence lines. When I was a kid one of my jobs was keep our fences repaired. I had a pretty strong magnet that Dad had attached to a long handle to use to check each area after a repair. Dad and I used to walk the fences down on occassion looking for metal and wire staples using his "wire magnet" as he called it. Of course we had a small farm operation and did not have much fence to check, however the loss of an animal was a loss of income and so it was a huge issue to us in our little operation. I imagine it was just as much of a problem for large operations as the margins between profit and loss are much smaller. That doesn't even address the issue of the pain and suffering of the animals that might occur due to one's inattention to duty. Your video provides a good lesson for non-farm people as to the seriousness of good work habits. I enjoyed this video and the others you have posted. It is refreshing to see how concerned you are for the health of your animals and the consequences of inattention to duty. It is a big pain to have to stop and look for such issues as this but it simply must be done without error. Well done.

I have to say that you have a educational level so high the professors in any college named couldn't teach. Think back when you started with the types of equipment that you used, could repair, then as time goes by, the next best thing comes out and of course to stay competitive, you buy that and retire the older stuff to smaller farms that your doing as well. It just never ends what is in your head as to types of obstructions or clear sailing and or the next big field that has been acquired in say five years to add to the memory bank where to look out for what and where the water traps are.... blah blah, I sound like a Vlog too... I felt really bad for you coming out of that bin with the flour dust all over you. If you go to a doctor for a breathing problem, doc says your fine, you just have a bail of hay on a lung, no big deal, we will get the leaf blower out and send it back to the field. Smart as a fox getting the kids in a truck, tractor, equipment an Oh if I were fifty years younger, I would probably have bird shot in my fanny from chasing Sarah who is a very beautiful girl... trust me, I am not one of the kind we take out on a hunting trip and come back without someone with us anymore... I would kill them too as I have five daughters that are all in their fifties..... ya, I walked jesus to school and back both ways were up hill and covered in snow in the desert there. I sure can say that you earned a lot of respect from most all, there is always a armchair democrat who knows more

I like the shots of the trucks pulling out of the field at the end that was pretty cool. I don’t know how you keep your sanity with that metal I would lose my shit. I have a magnet, I don’t know what brand it is but it goes on the forks of a forklift and I put it on the skid steer forks before. that thing is so damn strong it’ll pick up wire with the magnet 8 inches off the ground and you can hear The pieces of metal slam into it. It’s too bad you couldn’t put something like that on the top side of the pick up head before it gets to the feed rollers. I was trying to look in the video but there’s so much in the way I don’t really think it’s possible

I'd say the clean chute may keep the chute clean which is good I suppose but it sure doesn't do much for the operator ,10-4on saving that job for the end of the day !!! Don't suppose you could keep the wire field no-till for a few years so when it goes back to crops so you don't turn up any more metal when you put it back to corn and wheat , your going to have everything on the surface cleaned up by the time the alfalfa has run is course maybe it would let the small wire rust away at least !!!

Is there a way you could make, or buy, an industrial grade magnet, then put it on a piece of equipment, or on a chisel plow, and run it by itself? I know they make them for roofers, too pick up all the nails when they have to tear of shingles! I’m sure they have them for industrial, but I’m betting, you could make your own. I remember a politician last year blasting farmers, saying anyone can do it. My friends back home, Chet from Larson farms. You can fix everything, you know soooooooo much, electricity, wiring, math, dirt, machinery, and that’s maybe a 1/10 of you knowledge. But there’s more, there’s the fact that you have a Great family, and the kids have Great work ethics. Yes, Farmers are some of the the smartest people in the world, and for some cheap politician to say that, is everything we need to know too label him as an Idiot!... I forgot about farmers being veterinarians and pharmacists also!? Thank you all for what you do! God Bless & God speed. Keep up with the video’s, because we all Love them!.....
