An 'angle iron' welded vertically adjacent to the new sight tube would offer some protection from accidental damage. Good looking work!

Andy, does no one make a level device that has an App linked to your cell phone? If not, I am sure you could devise and patent a one.

It's bad on. Mas part not puting a sight glass on it especially a new tank .you want to know what's in the tank before you start travelling miles away.. perhaps mas might start and put somethinnk on there tanks now after seeing you .Andy .

Andy you spent a lot of money on this trailer. They do make trailers with more capacity, site glasses and fuel inlets in proper place.

I used to cut off the end of a 1/2 inch pipe nipple, screw something on to the threads to protect them and weld one nipple near the bottom of the tank and one on the top. Do an air test on each weld to check for leaks then drill a 3/16 hole through the tank wall at the fittings and add elbows, valves and the plastic tubing. That way I never had to cut a hole into the tank. the drill pulls the chips out and the small hole means the liquid doesn't leak as fast if the tubing is damaged. The larger ie tubing used, the easier it is to see.

stick a magnet on the bottom of the tank and hold anything farm and Metel to the magnet in the tank. It'll hold it in one place with the magnet being stuck to the bottom side of the tank just a thought. Just a thought

MAS trailer is just not very well designed. Lots of misses that would be obvious to anyone who ever used a fuel trailer even once.

I agree. I do have an issue when a tractor is pulling a large implement down the road but they have one or two "pilot" vehicles behind with hazards flashing. The tractor is a large enough obstacle not to mention more slow moving vehicles adding 100 feet to the convoy.

How many gallons of fuel does that tank hold Andy?
@michaelolenick40783 сағат бұрын
1000 gallons I think is what he said.
@blockmaker33336 сағат бұрын
You should have just put a clock gauge on there. I have one on my fuel tank with no problems that always tells me what’s in there. If I read 12:30 I know I have 6” in there . If I read 1:45 I know I have 1’ 9” in there. No cutting, chopping, and grinding. 12:00 is 0 inches. The small hand is feet and the large hand is inches. It’s fun to fabricate stuff but in this case absolutely not necessary. Check into clock gauges next time.

Interesting remodeling. I guess MAS had different ideas about convenience of the fill port, and didn't think about the gauge. Or wanted too much $ to get it OEM.

welding on a tank that's had fuel in it? KABLOOY!!
@MorganOtt-ne1qj6 сағат бұрын
You can actually put a fire OUT with diesel, if done correctly. I'm pretty sure Andy has worked on enough stuff to know what can happen. Probably why he is doing it and nobody else. I knew a guy who TIG welded an aluminum tank that was full of diesel. No, it didn't even boil, let alone anything else.

With your talent you could built a bigger tank maybe 1500 gallon, or extension on that trailer add 5 feet and one more axle. You and the girls could do it.
