Interessantes Verfahren.

Marcel Odermat silage is pretty heavy, so is the harvester. Alfalfa is harvested 4 times a year at the minimum so compaction is to be avoided at all cost. better to use a container more in transport in stead of ruining the field. Alfalfa is big business in Holland so the money allows it.

No PTO or way to get the power out of that chopper though, and you use a lot of power to crush the feed / corn as well.

There should be some re-usable bag system or storage container system of recyclable material used instead of this incessant waste of plastic. How about a silage harvester that packs five ton containers that can then be sealed?
@bunnywarren4 жыл бұрын
Part of the problem is that the storage needs to be as airtight as possible and has to be compressed to remove air. Large operations use silage clamps, which are large concrete or earthen pits, that can be used repeatedly and store many tonnes of material. For small amounts it's not viable to use this though.

Here in germany we have a lot of very small farms where it wouldnt be practical to put the silage into a bunk because of the waste they would have. most of them only harvest 4-5 hectares, so putting it into bales means they'll have high quality silage everytime.
@BauerHermann18114 жыл бұрын
@Hay Day dude pls stop calling him an idiot , whats wrong with you? To make it clear, this doesnt rly save time, but its a good way for smaller farms who dont have a bunker silo and it would be too expensive to build one.

Hay Day are you 12 or do you just act exactly like you’re 12?
@BauerHermann18114 жыл бұрын
@Hay Day First of all, i didnt claim that you're an Idiot, i just mentioned that you should stop calling people you dont know idiots! The other point is, that i dont want to prove you wrong because this discussion would last forever and we wouldnt come to a point where we could agree I said earlier, for smaller farms this might be the better and cheaper choice, but for farms like ours who need more than one or two bales per day it would get to expensive wrapping all these bales. Today we chopped our corn our contractor gets 210€ per hectare including transport and packing. The plastic costs around costs about 450€ and we harvest 25 hectares per year. If i rate a bale around 1 ton and our corn yields 45 Tons per hectare this would mean we'll have to transport 1125 bales to our farm Baling corn silage costs aroung 15-20€ per bale + the chopper. If i summed up correct putting it into a silage pit costs us round about 6000€ (i know I have to put in our Place for the silo, but you need the Place for the bales anyways) Baling it would cost us about 16.000€ + chopping + transport. Thats why we put our silage into silage pits. Now prove me that im wrong 😉
