this might be the best version of this song I've ever heard. even with the microphone not quite handling the climax of the song, the emotion still came across in a way that showed that this choir *really* understood what the song was about. Very few groups can pull that off. Wonderfully done.

This might be the most beautiful version of the most beautiful piece of choral music ever written. Tribute to Michael Barrett, Tuks Camerata --- and not least, the Xhosa people.

I cry every single time I listen to this. It’s hauntingly beautiful. I’m not religious but it makes me feel connected to everything. Bravo. Edit: There’s such serenity in submitting to the divine for a few minutes and feeling every cell in your body buzz with aliveness. This song will always be a gateway for me.

Virtually all posted renditions of this song by all groups say it is traditional Xhosa and sung in isiXhosa. But occasionally some say Zulu. Can you resolve?
@mailmoi1918 Жыл бұрын
It is composed by Mr L Jali (he's Zulu). He uses both Zulu and Xhosa words for example "Yehova" is xhosa for Jehova, however Baba is Zulu for Father (The Xhosa equivalent would be Tata).
