ok so on the last problem how would you solve for the radius if you were not given 4.4 and instead given the chord measure and the measure of the length of the part of the radius from the circle to the point where the radius and chord bisected perpendicularly.

what if you are only given the chord length (31cm) and the subtended angle (80 degrees 56 minutes), how would you find the distance from the the chord to the centre of the circle?

I would like to ask about the last problem. Why did you add 4.4 to 8.3 when the 8.3 is the hqlf of the chord and there's no given. I'm quite confused. But really this vid helped. Thank you😊

The chord property was that the perpendicular bisector from the center of the circle bisects the chord into 2 equal parts meaning that the length of the chord is 16.6 and we bisected it that means 16.6/2 = 8.3

he was finding x which was the hypotenuse, so he had to use the Pythagorean theorem by adding the two sides squared and square rooting it. sorry if i misunderstood, and that this question is two years old oops

How can I calculate the radius or diameter of a circle if I ONLY know the length of the cord, and the distance from the perpendicular center of the cord to the outside of the circle? Layman as possible, a wood worker not a student! Thanks!
