I’m enjoying your content and getting a lot out of it. The approach of memorizing the arpeggios in positions is gold!

Great stuff, Jared! Do you memorize chord progression and keep track where you are, or you somehow hear the next chord from the context and melody? I find it more challenging to memorize chord progression and focus on not losing where I am, than playing actual arpeggios.

would you recommend doing the arpeggios/chords workout BEFORE or AFTER the scales workout (from your other two videos on Solar) or it doesn’t really matter?

This is great, Jared. I'v been studying jazz for about 3 years and have a handle on this stuff but I'm at the point where I'm trying to make my practice routine as efficient as possible and definitely failing to do so. I saw your video about getting distracted by so many stylistic things and totally related, so I meandered through your channel. You're practice suggestion are awesome. Thanks!

Jared I have a question about exercise 4. Do I want to play the chords in the order of the tune, or simply each of the chords that exist in the tune? in otherwords, if the tune goes back to the tonic, would I place it again before going to the next chord? I can˜t tell with Solar because the chords never repeat😂
@soundguitar6 ай бұрын
Thanks for asking. You should play the arpeggios for chords in the order that they occur in the tune. So if you happen to be doing this exercise on another tune that has chords repeated throughout the form, you would play the arpeggios for those chords too. Let me know if that doesn't make sense 👍

nice but how do you choose which position out of the five to drill these and also what about fingering ? for example major arpeggios have often 1 note per chord on three strings one after the other
@deslauriermcАй бұрын
i’m trying to follow you chord tone vocabulary pack and trying to figure out fingering your using .
