Andy is an amazing guitarist that never seems to get near enough attention….

Amazing that Andy was an old man by the time he joined the Police, having played in numerous 1960's acts.
@mightyV4442 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's how I'd regarded him myself, being only around 10 back then and him already being an "old fart" in his mid 30's 😆 Both Sting and Copeland were close to 30 then too, though 🙂

Great video! I saw the Police Live concert video for the first time in 1995 and was completely blown away by what amazing musicians all three of them are.

Man, those old Police songs are so fantastic. I saw them two or three times and they never disappointed.

Great video! 😃👍 Andy is *the* guitarist that had inspired me the most, in regards to sound and chord choice 😊 I remember being 10 and 'De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da' being a hit at the time and playing on the radio every morning while I was getting ready for school, and I just totally loooved the guitar parts in it and that twangey, chorused sound! 😁👍 I think those parts may actually be a Sting idea, though (just like 'Message In A Bottle'), if that scene in Stewart's movie 'Everyone Stares' with Sting and Andy working on them is anything to go by?! 🙂 And 'Zenyatta Mondatta' also was one of my very first LP's and one of several I'd learnt to play the drums to (AC/DC's 'Back In Black' was another) 😊

Awesome, Brewster. I really wish Andy, Stewart and Sting would make another recording!

Would love to see this happen as well. Saw them on the reunion tour about a decade back and they were amazing live, but damn if they barely held it together for that tour. Those guys (primarily Sting and Copeland) just can't get along for any length of time.

Sure was glad to have friends who were into new wave etc, to open my ears to the different guitarists like Andy, while I was already deep into the rock & metal guys of the same era. Andy's talent is endless, and his use of chords, harmonics and effects are incredible, to say the least!

I was trying to send a direct message but I couldn't find out how with the new KZbin format, but I greatly appreciate everything you do as does everyone. What I wanted to ask was if you could do any Peter Green or Roy Buchanan or Danny Kirwan or Alvin Lee lessons. Your ear to match tone and even lick subtleness is immaculate.

Great lesson man! It’s so crazy/sad how mega talented people can sometimes create these masterpieces together, but then break up the band because they can’t get along… Maybe they should have followed ZZ Top’s example….separate tour busses! 😉

This was great and I really love your lessons. I always heard that chord in "The Bed's Too Big Without You" as a E minor, not G over B as I think you called it. It doesn't sound right to me. Are you sure? You are a great teacher, so I just wanted to double check. Thanks!

We can call Andy "guitar George" because he knows all the chords. Brewster may as well.
