Thank you thank you thank you. I have 5 children ages 2-8 and have been praying for guidance and wisdom from someone who understands our situation. I gave birth to my last 4 at home and we homeschool and have a small “farm” in the suburbs. Your videos have been an answer to my prayers. You started giving advice and I knew right there that you are talking from experience. I got up early and had water instead of coffee first thing and it was great!

This is the missing piece to my puzzle!!! Carolyn I cannot thank you enough for all your mentorship through you channel! This is so important! I grew up with everything done for me, I refused to raise my children this way and have implemented many of these methods into my home. I'm often asked how I get it all at done which I quickly say "I dont! It takes us ALL!" The flylady method has changed my life and now THIS is how I will conquer it!

Thank you for another great share! Love hearing how you manage a large family and am so encouraged by it! We like to say "Many hands make light work" and we do "dance party duties" too- so fun to clean to fun music. :)

I appreciate mom's as such, because we keep moving away from the way we lived before we became so legalistic meaning ..I've seen all thumbs up except for one? The contents you put out is many a times supposed to be common knowledge and it is really great to see someone like you bringing back that, knowledge to us I live in a city but I lived and grew up in country settings so you bring all that memory back to me Something I'd like to take get grandchildren to learn. I am very happy to see people like you on KZbin doing the things that should be normally done so we do not lose a self-sufficient generation

Do you have a video where you discuss the chalkboard behind you with the info on your household "Departments"? I'd love to learn more about how you plan/manage those different departments!

I just love that you make it totally normal that the house gets messy! Sometimes I feel like my house is the only one that gets messy every 1/2 hour.

Excellent information ❤️ I wish as a young bride I would have known this. I did everything for my husband and children because that is the way I was taught as a southern girl. Wow would I do things differently today if I could, but it is tooo late. Boys are grown with families of their own.... I wish now that I could have done things differently 😑 Hind sight is always 20/20. I just did things like I was taught. Hopefully young women today will do things differently 🌸

This is good...Children need daily structure, in order to become stronger adults in the future. 💪😎👍

We/Mom just called them 'chores' growing up. We knew (proudly) we were growing-up with the advancements of the chores and their associated responsibility. I still remember when she assigned 'dusting the living room' to me. We were very much a hard working middle class family, but that room was the room for finer possessions, and was only used on special occasions or guests (some of you will relate lol). Strictly no child's play in there! So, even to a child (I was maybe 12), to dust that room signified a special responsibility her trust in my competence to care for my mom's treasured pieces. Something rarely taught to kids anymore, as chores themself have become an anomaly in most families. It was a great life lesson & opportunity. Mom has passed now but her wisdom & love Iive on in the great memories of her guidance & strength, in all areas of life. {Cherish your mom while you have her} 💓

I love watching your videos. I’m 16 and I try and get my dad to set chores and jurisdictions to my three siblings and me because then he doesn’t feel like he’s always doing all the work even though I do help out but he just won’t do it.

Thank you for sharing 😊 we farm 2000 acres of beans and wheat plus 15 + acres of hay every year plus gardens and livestock. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with all the outside work, and my home gets ignored. That’s not fair to my family because when we have been out all day long our house needs to be our sanctuary and for the most part be fairly tidy and clean. I’m working on the balance. I have 3 kids 6, 4, and 1. Girl, boy, girl. They normally go to public school but obviously haven’t been able to lately. This summer when online public school is done. I plan to keep their education going and for all of us to get into a better house routine.

Thank you for sharing all these tips. It all sounds so great but I find that I have to stand over my children and tell them exactly what to pick up and move. How do you encourage or transition your kids from being told exactly what to do, to them doing it independently? My kids are still fairly young (1, 5, 8), and we don’t regularly do many chores as of right now (we aren’t on our homestead yet)

Dear Josie, I make homemade rice a Roni for years. Just break up uncooked thin noodles and uncooked rice in a skillet. Brown it .Add what you want onions, celery , seasoning. Cook rice noodles as you would like rice a roni

Do you have a daily quiet time/nap time ?
@jillybean8584 жыл бұрын
I would imagine not, farmers typically are early to rise, early to bed, maximizing daylight.
@whitsundayimpactchurch60044 жыл бұрын
Yes in one of her daily chores episodes she mentioned her youngest two go down for a nap after lunch and her older kids have quiet time so she can have her time to either take a rest, nap, KZbin, work etc 😃
