Kai was 19 here. I feel like maybe the reason Kai was looking for a que like you noticed isn't because he wasn't confident in the beat/steps. But because he really enjoys every performance and since this was a group setting where they're feeding off eachother he brought the element of reacting to them and such. He does the same in Peaches & Vanilla with his female dancers. He has said that he once thought happiness only existed on stage and he gets rather depressed between performances. So yeah he really brings his passion to every performance. Also he's EXTREMELY detail oriented (even has called himself a perfectionist and by others around him) and there is a documentary vid that exists from 2014 filmed around this time period (he was practicing a solo part in their 2013 Christmas song) where he definetly had that perfect detail attention even then. He practiced the same short move again and again for hours until he liked it's appearance/vibe. He said even when he was a trainee for 5yrs ,as young as 13 yrs old, he never saw anyone arrive earlier or leave later (often staying between 5am-12am even now. And believe that's not an exageration his sleep schedule is terrible. He talks about all this.) So yeah I think he definetly would have had the details of the dance down. 😅Sorry for the Ted Talk I just love all these small details about him and could talk for hours. @@xiaouiris The MV for Rover is great however the Studio Choom version which is more of a dance performance is being released like imminently, there was a teaser that came out today. So you will have a choice, but you could do both , I don't mind LOL! I will look forward to more Kai ! I almost forgot, Kai has also done another Film:Kai 2.0 lol for the current album just released and that will premiere on 3/20! 🫶🏻

They were really young. Hyo is the main dancer, I believe, of girls generation. They debuted many many years before exo. Kai improved a lot since then.

Kai is cooler here. He is contacting with others and more relax. Lay and girl think about dance more. But Kai’s quality of the dance is better

Knew you'd like it! Kai was 22, Lay was 25, Hyoyeon (Girls' Generation) was the senior. SM like to put their artists together to show them off in different lights; for example, they do it a lot for their SMTown shows, as we saw recently. Kai and Lay have always had the greatest respect for each other and it shows when they dance together. Another such collaboration was the SM Younique project that had Eunhyuk of Super Junior, Henry Lau, Hyoyeon, Shinee's Taemin and EXO's Kai and Luhan. They released a collaboration with Hyundai called "Maxstep" made in 2012 - Kai was 18 at the time (EXO had just debuted, he had only finished high school earlier that year) and was very much the junior in this group.

They used to be a 7-member group but this is their first track/choreo as a 6-member unit and they navigate the trappings of a 6-member choreo very elegantly. And they all are excellent dancers
