Nicolas' wife here. Nice interview, but I must correct one statement that was made- that some denominations worship Mary. I imagine that you were referring to Catholics. Just for the record, Catholics DO NOT worship Mary. We venerate and honor her as the mother of Jesus, although, in all fairness, I can see where someone might think that because of the devotion we have for her. We only worship God and many of us love, love, love the Chosen!

You are spot on! As a Catholic, asking Our Mother Mary to pray with us to Her Beloved Son Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior, is just a beautiful prayer! Just like asking the Angels and Saints to pray with us to Jesus Christ. It is humbling.

I think that’s totally fair, and, even though I’m a Protestant, I pretty much I agree with you. But I will say from a Protestant, venerating and revering Mary sometimes almost seems to flirt with worship. But be assured, I have the utmost respect for the Catholic Church and have often considered converting. Blessings. 😊

They say the rosary praying to Mary?! We are to pray to God our father, in his son Jesus name! Nowhere in the Bible our we to pray to Mary. Mary was chosen because she was a humble servant of the most high God!

Here's a little trivia for fans who don't already know: Vanessa, in real life, is about five years younger than Jonathan Roumie. Now, what does that say about Vanessa's acting and the makeup crew? When I stop and think that Vanessa is going to be with George Xanthis (John) at the Crucifixion, it blows my mind. It's going to be heart-wrenching and yet so beautiful when we see it. Wow!

Just FYI For clarification: Catholics do not worship Mary. Worship belongs solely to God. We do honor her, however, as Mother of Jesus, God the Son, 2nd Person of the Trinity. At her fiat, The Holy Spirit brought about the most singular miracle ever to have happen and will never happen again. Her flesh became His flesh, Her blood pumped through His, Her heart beating with His. This singular miracle, God's greatest gift was given to us through the Virgin Mother, a singular young maiden who has the most unique and singular relationship to God and the only one of its kind: She is Daughter to God, the Father, Mother to God the Son and Spouse to God the Spirit. She is the Mother of Him Who created her. We love and respect her as Jesus loves and respects her. She is a model for humility, obedience, and trust in God. She knows the Heart of Jesus, her Son, as no other being can. She is our hope. She is our Mother.

Noooooooo. At 2:42, the interviewer refers to how "some denominations" (i.e., read "The Catholic Church") even worship the Blessed Mother. No, no, no. We do not. Worship is for God and God alone. We revere Mary. We call her Blessed. We love her. She is, in a very real sense, our mother. But she is not worshiped in the Church.

@@barbarabaldwin7120 Well, I think some people are mislead; they genuinely believe that Catholics do worship Mary. Others, despite being told, simply don't believe it (they don't trust the person that's telling them). And still others may know better but persist in propagating falsehoods for whatever reason. I don't worry too much about group 3. But the first two are worth talking with. To be sure, Catholics, protestants, and evangelicals do not agree on some things (some of which are very, very important). BUT I think we also agree on quite a bit ... far more than some want to acknowledge.

Yes…but I think the combination of the make up department and her acting…she does an older woman well…when our daughters were in their 30s as Jesus was…we were 50…so I think it’s relatable

I know how these misconceptions are taught. If Mary weren’t so important to Jesus, to God the Father, we would not honor and respect her.nDisrespecting the mother of our savior is wrong. It is not worship to honor someone, to learn from another human how to live the faith fully. I’m sorry that you feel this way. Maybe one day when you meet Jesus you can apologize for your false teaching. He did tell us there would be many. So sad. Don’t teach what you don’t know. That like you saying you knew what my husband and I said in our home last night. You just don’t have correct information.
