I literally agree with you, I virtually never cry at any films or tv series. However, the Chosen has me crying even prior to the crucifixion. I don’t want to imagine what I’ll be like when we get there, though I look forward to how magnificent when the resurrection arrives.

It bothers me greatly, that the realism of being a Mother who knows what is coming for Her Son is not mentioned more. Vanessa Benavente who plays the Mother of Jesus did an award winning job by saying little, but the expressions of agony and grief on Her face made this scene all the more real. Go back and watch Her expressions. They literally break your heart.

The Chosen Helped My spouse go from beliving all the different religions to beliving in The Lord Jesus ! Being a Sunday School Teachers daughter when he said to me that The Chosen humanized Jesus for him I couldnt understand what it must felt not knowing Jesus also how much I hv taken advantage of knowing Jesus . Jim Caviezel came to speak at our church and I was blessed to see him….i was taken back on what he said happened to him when he played the roll of Jesus in the Passion o& the Christ…and many things that happened to him could have only been from God. Shalom, When we watch the events happen it's like when Jesus tells Lazarus about the prophecy of His death and Lazarus says, They were just words on a scroll 📜. These were just words in a book to so many of us but when you are taken into this world by the visual and you see those words coming to life before your eyes, well then, it can get very heavy on your heart. When you think about what He is volunteering to do without question. Kinda makes any problems I have so petty and meaningless. He was a mortal man and did something knowing it would lead to His death. Live as He has taught you and you will never die. Because it has been promised. Shalom ✝️ Shalom 🕊️

Yes that’s correct. Dallas has said that multiple times. Also, the show is called the Chosen so they will probably on the narrative of the apostles and what they were each doing during his trial, beating, crucifixion, etc.

After going through several heartbreaking times in my 65 years here, I was so hurt by the darkness that consumed me. Losing my son, and husband within a short period of time I was lost. Through my struggles I somehow found your show. This beautiful masterpiece, and by the Grace of God, turned my life around and back into the light. You all literally saved my life. Wow, I’ve seen this several times already but each time it hits me in a different way. Right now I’m struck by seeing the weight of what was ahead resting upon each of them, and especially on Jesus and His Mother Mary. You can see it and feel it in this scene ~ so impactful. After coming to the realization that these people all “were human” and very relatable through The Chosen, it breaks my heart to know and see what is ahead for Jesus, (and for Jonathan and the rest of them)- I almost can’t bear it! 🙏🏻💔

Seeing Judas' reaction takes me back to when I first encountered The Chosen, watching a short my daughter showed me where Jesus bids Judas, "Follow me." It's what intrigued me to start watching The Chosen, and led to a binge watching of every episode available. I became very excited, never having seen a movie or otherwise a treatment speculating on what the actual arc of Judas might have been like. It's easy to imagine him some cartoon villain, a snake from the beginning, but I always had trouble with that picture. Why would our Lord choose someone to be one of the twelve who was, through the entire three-year earthly ministry, an obvious traitor? Surely he was a traitor in the end, but it's unrealistic to think he was always where he ended up. There had to be a movement of some kind toward that end. And The Chosen really does that arc justice, suggesting a bright-eyed young idealist, turning his back on a business career to follow Messiah. Then the slow disillusionment, as Messiah doesn't live up to his notions of what Judas thought He should have been. Like a lot of us today, unfortunately. And in this scene where Judas looks down with a frown on his face, as if thinking, "How this is Messiah?! He should be entering the Holy City on a war horse, with a column of armed soldiers at His back! He should wave His hand at the Roman occupiers and bolts of fire from Heaven scorch them from existence! Or legions of angels swoop down to pluck them up and drop them from a great height into the sea! But No! Instead _this!"_ The Christ on a colt, the foal of an ass. How lowly! How unlike every expectation Judas has ever imagined! None of this is going at all the way he thought it would! Poor Judas. He just couldn't master his own preconceptions. He could not open his eyes and ears and look beyond the Christ in his head, to see the actual Christ right in front of him! How sad, given the place of faith he must have started from, to falter on his journey of faith, and fall into error.
