I knew that since Dallas Jenkins, creator of "The Chosen," is an evangelical that we would never hear the "bread of life discourse" in "The Chosen." This deeply saddens me since it takes away from the authenticity of the show and I would have loved to see it on the screen. This presentation by #JonathanRoumie makes my heart sing. Evangelicals believe in the blood and flesh of Jesus through communion. It may not even be included in the show due to time and film constraints. There is a lot to consider and show but not every sermon or discourse is shown in the show. But that’s why we need to read it for ourselves.

I used to be an Evangelical (grew up Southern Baptist)- Evangelicals typically do not believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist (and even if they did, they don't have it). In my old church, "Lord's Supper" was considered symbolic, and it was only celebrated about once a quarter.

During Covid lockdown, I still drove to church to take COMMUNION after online mass; I just couldn’t live without HIM. Jonathan’s personal testimony has taught me to SURRENDER everything to HIM. The Chosen has taught me to LOVE my Bible again. “Jesus, I trust in You. Amen.”

I got the courage to surrender everything to the Lord after reading a post he shared on his journey. @@dalelerette206 True story: Last week, my older brother dropped by for dinner. His wife is now learning about our faith, she’s attending RCIA and will be baptised Easter 2025. During dinner, she asked about the Eucharist and its significance. And my older brother (ie. her husband) quickly answered; “Its just symbolic. We do it because Jesus broke bread with His Apostles before He was crucified.” Oh gosh, I almost went into cardiac arrest when I heard the word “symbolic.” I quickly jumped in and said: “No, it’s not! How can you say that? The Holy Eucharist is the REAL body of Christ. Have you not heard the word transubstantiation?”Everyone around the table went silent. And everyone quickly changed the subject. 1 week on, I am still thinking about what he naively said and I wonder how many Catholics think the same 😢. The only thing that separates us from the 38,000++ Christian denominations is the Holy Eucharist. Jesus is truly present, at mass, with us. And as a Communion Minister, I was saddened to hear my brother (a cradle Catholic) utter those words. Anyway, the next day, he and his wife flew off to Bali for 10 days. He will be back next Monday. I most certainly will chat with him in private. I will be gentle ☺️☺️.

I was at the Eucharistic Congress, it was so wonderful. I am still effected and affected (hopefully forever). All the speakers, including Jonathan Roumie here with his speech and the beautifully done version of John 6, were sooo wonderful! They all were. Everyone brought so much Love, Peace, Knowledge of Christ, and our Great Catholic Faith to all those present. And Jesus in The Blessed Sacrament... the Eucharistic Adoration... I was so moved everyday, I will never be the same, God be willing.

How can fallen away Catholics listen to that and not want to come back to the faith and sacraments that they were baptized and confirmed into ? Thank you, Jonathan! As a fan of yours and The Chosen, I've been sad, in anticipation, that you will probably not get to portray that incredibly sacred moment in Jesus's teachings. Thank you for giving us that opportunity tonight. I absolutely believe that God is working through you to bring many people to a fuller experience of Jesus in their lives. I am huge fan of Jonathan Roumie's portrayal of Jesus Christ. Jonathan's reading of John 6:47-68 is magnificent! I regularly eat the bread and drink the cup of Christ's atoning sacrifice in my faith. I also cherish the prayer given by the priests who administer this Sacrament. I would like to share the blessing they give on the bread with you as an offering to Jonathan's wonderful speech and spirit. Amen, Jonathan! I wish I could talk with you about your conversion to Catholicism, as I have been considering it. I was raised at First Baptist Church, New Haven, CT, and it was a good experience. I was Baptized at age 14 after Bible Study classes. It is similar to the Catholic Confirmation. I saw a documentary where a couple of pastors converted to Catholicism. Amen. Why do you think the series doesn't want to include this biblical passage in a series about the gospel? They don't want it to promote Catholicism is the reason. It is a Protestant and Mormon show. I am not judging the actor for playing Christ in this series, but I can't in good conscience recommend this show to anyone - even more so now that he has said they are excluding that passage.

So clearly when someone says they convert to Catholicism it goes without saying that the person has converted to Christ in the fulness of faith.

It was back in 2020, just after I finally gave into the Holy Spirit, and started watching The Chosen's past week livestreams...I fell in love with the series almost immediately, and through it I found out about Jonathan's prayer livestreams on FB through a friend. So being a former Catholic, I was a bit hesitant, but the Holy Spirit was "nudging" me a lot in those past few weeks since being in the 'demic lockdown. I obeyed and started to tune in daily to Jonathan's prayer time, and before I knew it, the Holy Spirit started to have me once again think about my "c"atholic roots--but THIS time, He said He was going to explain things to me that I wasn't taught well enough for me years ago as a child, hence the reason why I didn't fully believe the first time around about Christ being in the Blessed Sacrament. The Holy Spirit had me look up John 6 a very short time after I started watching and praying with Jonathan and the others online. He knew that I really did want to understand better what that passage meant for so many years, yet HE said, I wasn't ready to accept what His Word had to say, until at this time. So He took me line by line, from about verse 27 all the way to the end of the chapter, but more specifically, to verse 66. Little by little, as I went through that passage with Him, He made it more crystal clear that it really WAS the LORD JESUS present in the Blessed Sacrament. It started at that Last Supper-the Pesach of Pesachs, which that Supper itself One Day will be fully completed at the Wedding Supper of the Bride Groom (Rev. 19), with His Bride- all those who have come to believe in the Lord Jesus as both Lord and Savior of their lives. I want to add that one of the comments that Jonathan Roumie himself made to me personally one day on one of the posts from his videostream when I stated to someone else that I was seeking the truth out about the reality of the Blessed Sacrament, and being a former "c"atholic, that meant seriously thinking about becoming a revert and returning to the Church. Jonathan saw what I wrote back then in the spring of 2020, and he said to me that he hoped that one day, I would finally accept the truth about the reality and PRESENCE of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. The Holy Spirit truly did a miracle, taking me through His Word bit by bit, until I finally realized and accepted that what the Lord Jesus said, WAS truth, hence the reason why many of his so-called disciples left Him, because it was "too hard" of a saying and a truth for them. I finally accepted and believed that the Lord Jesus Christ WAS and IS in the Blessed Sacrament, and I pray that many others in the Body of Christ, no matter where they hail from, also come to accept it as well, and become COMPLETE in Him through it. NOT only that, but I returned to the Church, and have attended the TLM-Traditional Latin Mass-that is where the LORD wanted me to return to in the spring of 2021, on the Day of PENTECOST-when the Holy Spirit descended on the believers(and the answer to the mystery of why I had to take Latin😄from 2018-2021!)!🙏💖✡📖✝🕊💖💖
