What a TOTALLY UNBIBLICAL sermon 😔 How about simply go with what John 3:16 says ……whosoever believes? WHOSOEVER believes. The sinner is able to believe. He believes the gospel, and THEN God does all that stuff that Alistair Begg is saying the Holy Spirit must do before we can believe. We simply believe, and then God does all the stuff that Alistair Begg is saying that the Holy Spirit has to do before we can believe. SIMPLE and BIBLICAL! GNOSTIC ISM says: “no man is responsible for his own ruin, or for his own success: of both these things, the gods are the givers ……..The gods will bring all of the fulfillment that they have planned.” THIS IS WHAT Calvinist actually believe. Gnosticism! Just believe John 3:16…….. read what it says, and believe it. Take it to the bank! Stop confusing the word of God.!

@@marialamb6781 How about reading your whole bible. John 6:44 King James Version 44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 3:1-8 King James Version 3 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. God does the choosing. Dead people can't choose. Ephesians 2:1-8 King James Version 2 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

@marialamb6781 a story. This young girl goes to the vicar. Come and get my mom in. The vicar knew the girls mom drank a lot. So he told her she should able to get in herself. No the young girl said. Get her in. Then the vicar realized the mom was dying. So he went with the girl. Her mom was dying. All the vicar could think of was Jn 3:16. So he repeated jn3:16 until the mom got in and he got in too. Maybe that would work for the godless calvinists.

Elaine Kang , I’m praying the same thing. I am saying a pray for you, now! Remember! Jesus loves your family, individually, more than you do. Just keep asking Him! It is desire that ALL men come to Him!!

The fervent prayers of a righteous man are a powerful thing. Paul said that our faith like Abraham’s was accredited as righteousness. So the prayers of a faithful man are a powerful thing. I evangelize so I know what you’re going though. My brother hasn’t spoken to me for months. But GOD says don’t grow weary in doing good. In due time you will reap a harvest. He also says that his word never returns void. And some so and another waters and another reaps. Some one may lead them to GOD one day because of your prayers. It is the work of the HOLY SPIRIT. Also there is no one who gives up anything in this life for CHRIST that he will not pay back 100 fold in this life and the next. I know it’s hard but he also says that when you are persecuted for his name rejoice that you have been found worthy to be persecuted for the gospel and your rewards are great. One thing he showed me when I got discouraged was that the prophets, the apostles, and CHRIST himself were rejected and persecuted. So in a sense we are sharing in his suffering which is cool because it brings him glory. We are becoming like him. Last thing. Those who are faithful in little will be faithful in much. Keep praying and seeking. Don’t ever give up. Keep hoping and loving and praying with all faith. If it is THE FATHERS will it will be so. As I look back at my life I realize he was always with me: even before I got saved. Even in the suffering. Keeping me safe making sure that I was walking in the path he set me on. He loves us soo much. He is jealous for us. We are precious in his site and his thoughts of us are as numerous as the sand. We are his inheritance and he is ours. We are his children and he is our GOD.

I'm new to the Calvinist doctrine and I want to understand it. What if my unsaved relative is not elected? wouldn't my praying and witnessing be in vain? If they are elected then does that mean that I can cease my praying and witnessing since they are already elected? I sincerely want to know for the sake of understanding, I do not mean to be argumentative or antagonistic since I am open to this doctrine.

Matthew Kleist Not only does God ordain the end, but He ordains the means. So, the reality of someone being elect does not mean that we do not pursue them with the Gospel. It is the preaching of that Gospel that God has ordained to be part of His drawing His elect to Himself. Continue to give the gospel to your family, and trust God to do His work of opening their eyes to see the truth of Christ.
@DoctorMcFarlandStudios5 жыл бұрын
Matthew Kleist it is not for us to know who is and who isn’t. We pray for God to change the heart of man because man can’t do it on their own. Before you came to Christ I’m sure someone was praying for you.

I am going to have to say that this pastor is an error. He repeated a statement twice at 8 minutes and 45 seconds "God enables us to believe, but does not believe for us." This statement implies that it is our will and choice to believe ultimately that is necessary in order for salvation to happen--as if Gods elect could use their will not to believe..Biblically, our believing is like a baby breathing when it comes out of the womb. It has nothing to do with the will it is a natural activity of a new life. It says in Ephesians chapter 1 That We Believe "according to His mighty power".The power to believe is in God. The most astonishing Discovery in my 30 years as a Christian is to see man's carnal flesh buck and squirm so intensely about his self-determination and his opposition of the doctrines of election and predestination.. And pastors even reformed pastors kiss up to their congregations and apologize for the gospel and the truth of it for fear of offending the congregation. The grace of Christ was given to God's elect before the foundation of the world! God's elect salvation was signed and sealed before the stars were placed in the universe. This is glorious. This is the Glorious truth of the gospel!

minute 4:32 'I don't want to turn to Scripture references...' indeed Alistair, for someone placing at least a verbal premium on the paramount status of Scripture, even paraphrasing Acts 17:11 in your challenge to your audience this is your nemesis. You mere man want to expound one of God's supreme doctrines- election- without using God's Word... if the capstone is skew, the whole construct is defective, and it shows 🙈 and then at 8:42 'God enables us to believe, but God does not believe for us' - this verbal gymnastic is repeated.... NB Romans 3:22 in the original [and KJV has it right] the faith OF Christ... to extrapolate your earnest statement re belief beg[g]s the question if man can refuse to believe, thus dominating the will of God???? 'theological dog's breakfast' 15:16.... WHAT? and then the solution 'believe both things' [like having it both ways? Rev 3:16!] no,no,no alistair, get back to the definition of faith in Heb11:1 and guide the people, God is a God of order, not of a "dogs breakfast"!, and dont quote spurgeon or some other created being, quote God!

Are those that this passage are talking about are those that have accepted Christ as savior and have repented. Or is this that God only picked certain people to be saved.

Your missing the point. God chooses us singly. He then moves us with His Irresistible grace. And because His grace is irresistible we believe. “We must believe” is a part of salvation John 3:16

We are chosen because we are 'in Christ'. In other words, he loves us because we believe in his Son. If we reject his Son, we remain under his wrath and are doomed to Hell. We were predestined to become part of God's family because he knew before time began who would choose to follow Christ.
@saved6655 Жыл бұрын
So that’s not what Ephesians 1 says, but that is some serious theological gymnastics.

Why don’t you believe in it? “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.” Romans 8:29-30 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:3-6, 11-12

John3:16 “whoever” is not predestined context. Praying for no one to be turned away is not predestined context. Many have predestined roles like Paul for an example. But god giving free willmeans there is a choice to some extent. Choice also doesn’t mean freewill. Moses was full of freewill and god’s decisions with him where not in predestined context.
@stevopono10882 жыл бұрын
You missed in John 1:13 the man’s free will has nothing to do with Salvation: John 1:12-13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, NOT of blood (Israel) NOR of the WILL of the flesh NOR of the WILL of man, but of God.
@gloriousappearance86972 жыл бұрын
Jesus was predestined for the cross. without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. Jesus was crucified on earth. On earth as it is in heaven Gods will is done. those who adhere to this doctrine should repent and turn to the Christ who came in the flesh. God who is rich in mercy and forgives the sins of Solomon, will grant forgiveness sins when we repent and turn to Him. Confess with thy mouth that Jesus is LORD and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and you shall be saved.

Whoever believes means just that, you are trying to add some sort of free Will implication. It simply means whoever believes. Think about that for a second
