Daniel did the right thing giving his blessing. He did love Kumiko at one point and she loved him, but in hindsight, it was a summer romance. Chozen knew Kumiko much longer than he did and now we know the main source of his disdain for Daniel. Just like Johnny, Chozen saw him with her and said, "You no move in on lady!" Even though in Chozen's case it was unrequited. But as far as making up to Daniel, he's been a great friend to Daniel this season, and his family and Johnny, and even to Mike once they got past how they met. Giving his blessing was the least Daniel could do. And Kumiko clearly has long since forgiven him for how badly he treated her in the 80s because she was the one who assured Daniel he had changed. He better show up in S6 so they can pay this off. And hopefully he can flashback to his childhood so we can see little Chozen and little Kumiko playing together. And if they get married I can't wait to see Johnny's antics at the wedding!

I always had a feeling that part of Chozen's strong hostility towards Daniel was that he had deep hidden feelings for Kumiko. At first he had issue's with Daniel as Mr. Miyagi's student because of his family loyalty to his uncle Sato. That feeling only grew worse after seeing Daniel get the girl he always wanted but didn't have the courage to pursue. It really shows just how much he has grown and changed that he is not only working hard to regain his honor by making things right with Daniel but he is finally ending his cowardly ways in truly being brave by stepping up in going after Kumiko. It's pretty clear by him using the exact same words that Mr. Miyagi spoke to her aunt Yukie that Chozen and Kumiko highly likely will end up together. This would truly be a great way to complete Chozen and Kumiko's story by having them come together and finally fulfil the marriage contract between their families that had been previously abandoned .

The writers really have a shit hand here with the violence against her at the end of KK2. Personally I still don’t think it’s as difficult as selling Kreese actually caring about Johnny after the parking lot incident, but still. If this was even ten years after the incident I’d probably say no, but we are talking 35 years and in those years Kumiko can say with certainty that Chozen is truly remorseful. I have always been pro Daniel and Kumiko as the best couple in the series, but I think I’m good with this now

Chozen's redeeming arc was so needed. We all know how terrible he was in the second movie and that he was literally a bad guy because of what he did to Kumiko, but then this series hit the deck, and holy cow what a change. I don't think anyone could've predicted him returning and being a truly reformed man. He took the time to learn from his past mistakes and better himself. Sadly, he still struggled with the one thing everyone struggles with, forgiving ourselves for our past wrongs. We see that Kumiko forgave him a long time ago, Daniel forgave him, and he was still denying himself his own fogivness. By doing this, he closed himself off to what could've been a better life and better possibilities. Now, he is finally moving on and we are here for it. In my opinion, seeing Johnny work his way up was good, but it was nowhere near the level of what Chozen went through. Johnny just continued to blame Daniel for everything wrong in his life. Chozen realized Daniel never did anything wrong, and accepted he only had himself to blame. This was why I was more invested in Chozen's story than Johnmy's. All in all, this was a heck of a series.

Cobra Kai, Season 5 really should have ended with Chozen marrying Kumiko. That would have been a sweet and appropriate way to wrap up the series. Now with Season 6 coming, the show feels played out. Also, Chozen deserves more respect. Why should he have to sleep on a damn couch? Daniel is doing well financially. Why can't he find a spare bed for Chozen, who flew out from Okinawa to help him?

Daniel has his own family. Johnny will inevitably marry Carmine, Daniel better be the best man. Barnes is the best situated of the rivals. I’d love to see Chozen get his happy ending. Our enemies yesterday can be our best friends today.
