Well, I don't think that there being less focus on the tournament also means less focus on the students, but just as they are growing up themselves I could see them going through more mature storylines, instead of the typical high school ones. As already set up in Miguel's case, who is looking for his father.

No one insults their fan base like Star Wars, Trek, Marvel, DC, Disney has their fans. So Cobra Kai actually understands their fans and that is the #1 priority. At least in my eyes. Cobra Kai are the good guys/anti-heroes imo, bc they have the backstory. You understand Crease, Johnny(The real star of this series), Silver and eventually Barnes. Their back stories are filled with hardships and pain and trying to survive.

I actually hope to see Tory tell Amanda about the ref and Silver's conversation. They seem to have been on 'friendly' terms as the season progressed. But if they did have a conversation. I hope Sam won't be a part of it. Because she was so defensive/bullying towards Tory in Season 4. I liked Sam's character up until that season (she kinda redeemed herself at the end/during the tournament). And then maybe Amanda can help Tory out with her home situation somehow. So she doesn't have to do odd jobs anymore. I swear I thought Tory was forced to work as an 'adult entertainer' instead of being a 'children's entertainer' in that one episode.

My Theory is that Tory will reach out to Amanda and also ask to speak with Daniel and Samantha as well. She will tell the Larusso's about Terry Silver bribing the ref. She will tell Samantha you are the real champion and give her the trophy. Sam is momentarily taken aback and speechless. This is their reconciliation.

How I see things, Chozen is there to help the students blend both sides of Miyagi-Fang and teach them the more offensive side of Miyagi-Do which Daniel had not been instructed. I also see him doing some one on one instruction with some of the stronger students and working on their weaknesses as a counter to Silver's mind game tactics. I wouldn't be surprised to see a fight between Kreese and Chozen somewhere in season 5,. Also a Chozen vs Johnny fight, similar to what we saw in season 3, as part of training.

I think Chozen is needed to open up a new karate dojo, because Daniel and Johnny can't operate anymore. Terry Silver would retaliate horribly if Daniel or Johnny continued, and the only solution for them is to bring in a third person to start a new dojo, and group under him. Chozen will be the sensei of the new dojo..

Assume for a moment that Chozen has decided to help Daniel fight against the Cobra Kai under Silvers. He creates the Sato-Do Dojo, and absorbs all of Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do students under Sensei Chozen. Daniel and Johnny both know about this. Chozen isn't the sort to play games. He creates the emblem of the Sato-Do with the bonsai tree of Miyagi-Do, under a foreboding red sky, and dresses his students in dark grey gis, and teaches them Sato-Do, which is inspired by, and has full access to, all of Miyagi-Do. Silvers, confident that he has brought down both Dojos, continues on to the next tournament to make a name for Cobra Kai, and using Mike Barnes as lead sensei, since Silvers would rather pay to make the name great, than actually put the hard work into making a great dojo himself, begins teaching them the most destructive version of karate known to the valley. It is the sort that starts hemorrhaging kais, as they realize, like Tory does, she was a champion because someone bought off the ref. It hits her as a blow to her own self-confidence. She has a sit-down with Kreese, who knows exactly why Cobra Kai was usurped from him, also, and it appears that Kreese is on the path to understanding the wrongness in his nature, but has no idea what to do with that nature. Tory is lost. Robby, on the other hand, now has a sensei he is on all cylinders with. Robby is found to be a badly raised child that took on the mark of Cain in order to be even more vicious. Sam is trained by Chozen in secret, with only Daniel knowing outside of the training. LaRusso Auto is taking a hit from Silver's outside interference. meanwhile, Cobra Kai is down to a handful of students, of which Silvers thinks are the best students, which does include Tory and Robby. Kreese dies mysteriously the night before the tournament. In the tournament, Sam, a Sato-Do, beats Tory with little trouble, and Hawk, sporting a very different hair style, now, nearly beats Robby. Robby has been completely thrown, as he underestimates Hawk, attempts a cheap shot Hawk anticipates, which causes Robby to rage out on his final point. Miguel fights Robby. Miguel has been playing a strategy of hiding his best moves through the tournament, and looking like a contender that is easier than Hawk. Robby even scores a point on Miguel, and causing Miguel to feign injury so Robby locks onto that spot, but in the next spar, Miguel puts the heat on Robby, and Robby is put off balance, again. But there is no sudden death. Miguel reveals he is far better than Robby, and makes it obvious as he takes the next 2 points. Cobra Kai has lost again. Silvers snaps at Barnes, about how his teachings are nothing. Silvers abandons Cobra Kai, reverting it back into John Kreese's control, but again, Kreese dies, and an indemnity clause Kreese signs places Cobra Kai back to Johnny Lawrence. Johnny starts off the next season lost and found at the same time. He found Miguel, and has been a more or less surrogate dad to him, now that Miguel knows who and what his real father is like, but he needs to find Robby, and try to reconcile with him, and try to turn him from Darkness. Johnny meets with Chozen, and asks him what he is missing from his teachings. In simultaneous fashion, and unbeknownst to Johnny, Robby has sought Chozen out and asked him similar questions. We see a side by side comparison that suggests, Johnny and Robby are not so different at all. Chozen tells both of them to seek each other out. As for any battles that occur between Johnny, Kreese, Silvers, Daniel, Chozen or Barnes, I can only speculate, but we likely will see Barnes seek out Chozen after being embarrassed, only to get his ass whooped by Chozen.

I don’t think Terry was trying to defeat Miyagi. His goal was to get Daniel to fight in the tournament. I think Terry just wanted rile Miyagi up enough to cause him to enter the tournament with Daniel. It worked. Look at Terry’s body language. He looked like he was having fun and not trying to beat someone up. Terry is probably better than we think.

I love this show. It really is the best thing to come along in a very long time. The Karate Kid universe has gotten to be a rich landscape and it just seems to get better every season. There are still more characters they can bring in and keep the show going a few more seasons with more intrigue, drama and action. Great video. A theory i have is Silver doesn't cover his tracks as well as we think. This is in regards to Silver beating up Stingray. When Tory and her Aunty were talking. Homeless Lynn was not far away and seemed to be listening to them. The first time where she hasnt spoken. She hang that shopping strip a lot. Maybe when Silver had beat up on Stingray. If he had him taken away. She may have witnessed that and no one saw her. Not witnessed the actual beating though. The trouble is if she was to come forward she may not be listened too. If that is the case, it would be good to see her backstory.

As much as I've wanted Kreece to have his redemption arc, I'm not sure it's going to happen. Yes, Terry Silver is the more evil of the two..........for now. But bare in mind that Silver had actually found inner peace and redemption away from Kreece and Cobra Kai. Kreece manipulated Terry, bringing him back in and then verbally threatened Terry sending him mentally into fight or flight mode causing him to revert back to his old ways. Just because Terry is the lead antagonist presently doesn't mean Kreece is suddenly redeemed. lol

I think the long-arc of the show is the redemption if Cobra Kai karate itself. That's the twist; the good guys aren't going to eradicate Cobra Kai from the valley. What they will do is get rid of Terry Silver. This show ends with Sensei Johnny Lawrence at the helm as head sensei of Cobra Kai, with his son Robby as his star pupil and assistant coach.

It is the perfect set up for an “Empire Strikes Back” scenario. However, moving forward, they need to start moving away from the All Valley , the characters are gonna start aging out of that. They should let cobra kai do their thing for at least 2 seasons. Having the good guys triumph over the bad so easily is boring. With Barnes coming in the picture, lets not forget about Sean who could potentially be out of prison in the next season, Dutch could also make an appearance with the other cobras down the line (Julie as well). The cobras could join Johnny or Daniel to help where as Barnes is a wild card from his hate for Silver for making him lose the tournament. Lets play the long game on this

Thanks for the video! Thinking the idea of cobra Kai needing to shift power from within has been demonstrated for seasons now. Kreese took over Johnny and now Terry took over Kreese. I looked it up, and under California Law a Gentlemen's Agreement IS legally binding--in some cases. However, without the terms being written out, it is nearly impossible to differentiate what exactly was agreed upon by both parties. Also, and this is important, a HANDSHAKE is just as legally binding as a written contract. However, Congress never passed this "law", so it's not exactly enforceable and it can be dissolved after 1 year if services are not completed. That said, it appears that Daniel, Johnny, and Kreese had a verbal agreement--sans handshake. And that CAN be legal and binding, AND it can get Daniel and Johnny sued. HOWEVER...like a handshake agreement, there were no written terms, so it is almost impossible to prove what was verbally said between the parties. I went back and watched the fight scene and Kreese states "If I lose, I go. If you lose..." then Johnny interrupts him. So, technically, an agreement was never made by ALL parties; only one, and that was Kreese. Also, it was made under duress, which would null and void everything said. Plus, it would never hold up in court--no matter how much Silver paid off the judge.

I think you're absolutely right about silver expanding. I know that was his original plan with Karate Kid 3, which theoretically he could have gone through with even after being banned from the all Valley. Maybe he could have waited a few years and did it anyway. But I'm still kind of surprised that the all Valley committee completely overlooked the fact that Terry silver was back in the fold. I thought that was going to be a hurdle that Cobra Kai was going to have to get over, even though they had approved for Johnny's Cobra Kai being the all Valley tournament. But then again,, Miyagi do may have a few tricks up their sleeve to help them expand Beyond the Valley and Okinawa...

What I think they need to do is explore the mysterious Kim Sun Yung who taught Silver and Kreese (at least Silver implied in KKIII). Maybe Chozen has heard of him from Sato, a Korean who studied Japanese martial arts and perverted the teachings or adapted them to use against the North Koreans and Chinese in the Korean War. In either case, Chozen may have been warned about this Kim Sun Yun, and when he finds out that Silver was his student, this brings him into more of a direct conflict with Terry. While Daniel is Mr. Miyagi's student, Chozen (as indicated in Season 3) has a more complete understanding of the Miyagi-Do karate, and perhaps we'll see some flashbacks of Terry learning his "Quicksilver" method from teachings he took under Kim Sun Yun. In either case, this might give some more depth to Chozen's character and that he's not just involved in this affair because Daniel phoned him in from Okinawa. This becomes personal to Chozen because Cobra Kai (Silver) is using a corrupted (militaristic adapted) martial art that dishonors the Japanese tradition, drawing all of this back to the Japanese penchant for harmony and balance typified by Miyagi Do (as Chozen sees it).

I don't think Kim Sun-Yung perverted anything, but rather that Kreese was taught the pure form and gradually corrupted it by injecting his twisted Cobra Kai philosophy. It would be interesting if a relative of Kim Sun-Yung would find out about Cobra Kai and travel to America to find and confront Kreese and Silver about ruining their (great) grandfather's martial arts legacy. This has actually happened in real life, when a martial arts family from Japan found out one of their former students started teaching a watered down version of their style in his McDojo in America, ruining their family name and reputation by handing out black belts to basically anyone who could afford one.

I think that for comedy relief in season 5 some of the Miyagi Do students i.e. Dimitri will imply that they believe that Daniel hired a Yakuza hit man to take out Cobra Kai. Cause Chozen does give off a very stoic vibe. Also I think that his teaching style will be a combination of the soft style training that Daniel has taught them, and the more hardcore style that Johnny encompasses. Ultimately I believe that Chozen is the superior fighter due to the years he’s devoted to training and improving whereas Daniel has become a businessman and a family man. Also I believe he’s a superior sensai, because he’s devoted his life to teaching, even in Karate Kid 2 he was his uncle’s number 1 student and teaching military police. I can see his presence having a strong impact on Johnny, with him recounting his fight with Daniel and his journey towards redemption.

Predictions for Season 5: Chozen will run a new school and have both Daniel and Johnny working UNDER him to get around the verbal clause of not teaching again. Chozen will reveal Myagi-Do secrets to them. Mike Barns will be revealed to have been working for Silver all along, and his loyalty to Silver saving his life will be revealed (in events post KK3, perhaps financial). I have a feeling we'll also see Dutch make a comeback... but working under Silver. I like that they can keep the trifecta of Myagi-Do rather simple (Johnny, Daniel, Chozen). Bringing Hillary Swank back seems forced, and she may only make a guest appearance in one episode to provide some guidance for Daniel. Chozen will help redeem Kreese, to learn from his ways, and simply be better. In doing so, Kreese will need to show some empathy for murdering his sergeant in Vietnam. I'd like to see there being some link between Silver and Chozen... through the teachings of Sato. Remember how Sato taught soldiers in the war? Perhaps Silver was one of them. This would make he and Chozen perfect adversaries who know the darker secrets of Miyagi-Do. There's more to Silver that will be revealed. It feels as though there's enough material to make at least two more seasons of CK. I hope it goes beyond just Season 5.

I think chozen will have a massive impact. The whole time Daniel and his students practiced the karate style Mr Miyagi taught. But there are faces of Miyagi do that are completely different. And chozen was taught the more war like Version of Okinawan karate. He is like a more offensive and physically stronger Daniel. No doubt he would beat up silver to a pulp

I’d like to see things get more serious. The tournaments are fun and exciting, but the end of this season proved that the tournaments no longer decided anything. I think Tory will act as a mole inside CK, which would create some interesting stories, and somehow they will be able to prove Silver’s guilt and Kreese’s innocence. That would move him to change and ally with them. Rather than Silver being locked up immediately though, he could go on the run… and it’s up to Daniel and crew to find him and bring him down.

I’m not saying the police hire them, but this show (and the movies) hinged largely on vigilante justice. To say this is a bad take is crapping on the almost the entire franchise… almost the entire genre. Remember when Robby was on the run? Who was it up to to bring him in? The police? Nope. Daniel and Johnny. See, they’ve done it similarly already. You trashed the show’s writing without realizing it. Truth be told, though, Kreese and Silver will probably end up having a fight in a dangerous situation that results in them both falling to their death or something. Cobra Kai dies with its founders in the same way it was born. Kreese may not get the happy ending a lot of the fans may want for him after his redemption.

I think at its heart, Daniel needs to realign with the spirit of Miyagi. Daniel hasn't stepped truly into the role of mentor, like Miyagi was so good at. The deal regarding the tournament, and the failure to work with Johnny, there's just something there that needs correcting. Daniel had Miyagi teaching, but still lacks the wisdom in depth, the understanding... That's what he needs to understand, and maybe get taught by Chozen.

My take: Chozen is "the full circle". He is the synergy between Miyagi and Sato. Whereas Season 4 is considered exploring a hybrid of Miyagi-Do and Cobra-Kai, Chosen represents the true Okinawan version of aggression and defense. The style for Chozen? Sato-Ryu. Insert a Gojo-Ryu styled fist, with the word "Sato" in Kanji.

This is easily my favorite series on any platform. --- SATO had his own Dojo's and Chozen (Sato's #1 student) taught Karate to the military under that name as we saw in Karate Kid II. It makes sense if they want to continue using the SATO name versus the Miyagi Do karate. Your Shen-Po Sensei could work too. Regardless of the name I agree Daniel can be a "Student" there. With Tory's development I think that she may end up having more respect for SAM after seeing Terry bribed the ref and could join up to their side, especially with Robbie leaning that way after his reunion with Johnny after the tournament. -- Terry said he'd call up some old buddies too so I am assuming like everyone that means Barnes. I wonder if he might bring in Dutch. He has been in prison for some time the old Cobra's said, he could potentially be Tory's father.

As excited as I was to see Chozen at the end, it’s too good to be true. Because now you’re going to have Daniel, Johnny, and now Kreese and Chozen battling against Silver and his many dojo’s? I feel like either Chozen will either turn on Daniel and side with Silver as there might be some connection with Silver. Or possibly Silver has Chozen either killed, seriously injured, or even uses connections to have Chozen deported likely after Chozen fights and beats someone up - probably even Silver himself and there would be a big ordeal to get Chozen back or Daniel would have to go to Okinawa to be fully trained by him. Perhaps there will be conflict between Daniel and Chozen because Chozen sees that Daniel let their teachings get into the wrong hands. It just seems to me that Daniel and Chozen training together and Daniel learning all the tricks of the trade and teaching it to their students is too much of a perfect set up that would end the show quickly.

I’m new to this channel, but I have seen a few of your videos and am subscribed. I like how you think of theories and I am very much looking forward to season 5 and seeing how it goes and who fights who. One of the reasons I absolutely love Cobra Kai is they take the movies, which were great but kinda cheesy, and they develop these characters and give them more depth. You also get potential for all these characters to interact across all the movies. You might see Silver versus Chozen or Barnes versus Johnny. We could even see Julie versus any future female karate ladies involved in any tournaments. It’s simply awesome and expands what has been termed the “Miyagi-verse” and it’s easily the best show current going in my opinion.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I've said it before.... AND: - Daniel may still honour his agreement by stepping down as Miyagi-Do sensei. Chozen taking over doesn't dishonour that agreement. - Since Daniel is no longer a current sensei, he can now rejoin the all valley board. The agreement with Kreese doesn't say that Daniel cannot do this. Johnny may also join the board. - Remember, Cobra Kai got the lifetime ban because Kreese and Silver were the head senseis. The board reinstated Cobra Kai with the understanding that Johnny Lawrence was the new head sensei. With Daniel being back on the board (assuming that's what he does) can remind fellow board members of this and advise them to act accordingly. - Were Daniel and Johnny to be on the board. Tory can report it to them who can arrange for an investigation to take place.

*Silver's in another league, and I wouldn't be surprised if Mike Barnes beats the living snot out of Chozen -- all the Karate Kid films are about escalation and progression, similar to Nolan's Batman trilogy or the villains of Dragonball Z, for instance ~ I mean - in point of fact - Johnny already dealt with the pressure-point technique quite well, and it'll be difficult for anyone to pull that technique off if their arms/hands are broken, as I would be surprised if Kreese hasn't told Silver about it ~* 😂
