I really liked this episode! And although I felt like them fighting over something as trivial as a toy was dumb, it felt believable. They're both idiots and the fight was well deserved. I do wish that we would've gotten some more insight on how Chris really felt about how Dan treated him, maybe? It would've been more interesting to see some sad dan and Chris, rather than just angry.

Honestly i thought Dan would've maybe killed Chris, but you are right, maybe seeing a sad dan would've been better in terms of him just being angry all the time, I keep saying this but I really do mean that the last 4 episodes of Dan vs season 2 were genuinely the ones that carried the season as a whole. This one was definitely a banger and although it leaves you guessing, it does a good job all in all.

Genuinely one of the best episodes of the entire series, this is one of the few episodes to which actually redeemed season 2 as a whole, along with a couple of others. Also the music to when dan had flashabcks actually made it a bit sad, just goes to show that he isn't a *complete* monster.

Dan has never messed with anybody for no reason, and you can see often times that he doesn't know how to react when somebody is kind to him, or very nice, in the neighbors episode he literally thought they were planning somebody evil against him just because they were nice

Basically, it was a children's cartoon with the style of humor of an adult cartoon, which is basically what it is known for. Dan Vs. It was a weird situation where the show's premise and humor generally would not have appealed to the children watching the Hub, and the jokes could be borderline inappropriate. However, it was a children's cartoon that simply felt like it was an adult cartoon, but it could never be explicit. So, it was this vague in between that left people asking, "who is this show even for?", and it was very out of place on the Hub. Personally, I don't think it would have worked as an adult cartoon nearly as well, but the fact that it's a kids cartoon means it has an audience alienating premise (for the kids, anyways)

I kind of feel like Dan Vs is in the same category as Regular Show, as in they were both shows intended for general audiences on a very kid-friendly channel but they happened to appeal more to mature audiences. I think some of the situations in Dan Vs. would ultimately appeal more to teenagers and adults, but I don't think kids would feel alienated by the humor.
