Christopher Benoit talks about Brock Lesnar. interview by Off the Record (Michael Landsberg, TSN)

Benoit is pretty observant despite the brain damage. He was right about Brock coming back. It kinda gives me chills now because he was right and that Brock came back. He's been dead for like 9 years yet he was right about Brock coming back.
@SanDmaNTheFreakTrucker8 жыл бұрын
+Deathpool_04 But considering the fact that SO many guys do return, it wasn't exactly a Nostradamus call. And, if not for Lesnar's diverticulitis he would probably still be fighting in the UFC.
@Deathpool_048 жыл бұрын
American Viking I guess you're right about that. I'm not sure if Benoit knew about Brock's plans of him going the UFC but damn, he was still right about Brock coming back to WWE.

+American Viking Benoit was speaking about Brock Lesnar. A man who has always done it for the money and was released from OVW and won the title the same year in a shorter time than Angle's first year back in 2000. Lesnar was different because he didn't have the passion as to a different wrestler who would have the passion against Lesnar who did it for the money. AFTER his fault in NFL and his career in UFC.
@hititdj7 жыл бұрын
brock is only back because he got ill during his final years in the ufc, had brock lesnar stayed healthy and not have diverticulitis he would've remained with the uf then retire for good and probably wouldve came back to wwe only to be inducted in the hall of fame, so it was just a lucky guess on chrs benoit's part

This is partly why chair shots to the head have been banned in wrestling for some time at least with the wwe and part of protecting athletes from concussion injuries just like they have in the NFL and other sports. So yes it’s terrible what happened but there is a reason for in in Benoit’s case.

@@ozz7602 look into it more there have been other athletes in other sports including the NFL were they have killed other family members and friends due to brain damage caused by their sports Benoit is not the first nor will he be the last. When your brain is that badly damaged you are not in control anymore sadly this can lead to what has happened here and with other athletes. Understand the cause and what it’s led too and what’s happened Benoit was totally out of control with the brain damage and brain decease he had and was suffering with his brain is one of the most damaged examples on record of its kind with regards concussions related damage. The guy loved his sport and he gave everything to it both physically and mentally and unfortunately every thing held dear to him also due to his brain damage caused over all the years he took head shot after head shot to please the crowds and the fans ending in tragedy later in life. He did what he did being a man outside his own mind. But his sacrifice for the sport should still be recognised or everything that’s happened has been for nothing. He should be recognised for what he did, the price he paid, the damage caused, the brain injuries, the mood changes, the loss of control and change this from happening again to anyone else in any sport due to concussion injuries so this does not happen again. The real tragedy here is this could of been prevented many years prior if the sport had looked after its athletes both in the wrestling industry but all contact sports instead of making money first.

What I don’t like is people insulting Benoit and calling him a monster. What he did was horrible but people snap, they lose themselves mentally and do horrible stuff. It can happen to each and every one of us. What he did was horrible but it doesn’t mean that before he had become mentally ill , he wasn’t good human being.

I will always love chris benoit. He cried out for help along time before he did what he did. Vince used him and pushed him to Wrestle on through concussion after concussion. Onto he had the mind of a 80 year old. If not older. He should of got help.

Brock achieved what most can only ever dream of. He's the only guy who has Vince by the balls and not the other way around. He can do whatever he wants and people will bow to him. If he wanted to he could go to AEW and make more money than anyone else there. He could come back to WWE and get paid more than he ever did.

I mean, The Rock dictates to Vince when he’ll do what. He doesn’t wrestle very much, but he still acts as an ambassador of sorts for the wwe, but exclusively on his schedule.

Seeing how much in-ring technical wrestling has become more prevalent in today’s product, it really saddens me that his name is excluded from being mentioned from history, I’m sure so many wrestlers old and new would have stories about their favorite matches of his. Rightfully so of course, his final days diminish anything he ever did in the ring and he does not deserve to be remembered fondly.

In the end, Brock made right decision by quit from wrestling because the travel and pain killer was too much for him and he just want light schedules,more quality time with his family, when he made return in 2012, he already big star and he have strong position in bargaining to make Vince agree with his terms if WWE want him back.
