@@dreadedworld8864 You're correct on that part, yet Russia still never legalized homosexuality. Also notice that you are talking about parts that were either allies or puppet states of the Soviet Union. So no, the USSR never legalized homosexuality, let alone the fact that the USSR *didn't exist* in 1917. The Russian Empire stopped existing in 1917, but the USSR started existing in 1922, two years before the death of Lenin. Speaking of Lenin, he died in 1924, while Stalin was the leader of the USSR from 1922 (its creation, basically) up to 1953. After that, the most Russia did was take measures that slowly decreased the banning of Homosexuality, but never truly legalized it.

The soviets fought for their own survival, because they knew the germans had grand plans for the East, but just as a living space, where other humans were an obstacle. And thus they fought to defend their homes, their families and culture from termination expected from germans. Ideologies can start wars, but it will always be soldiers who win them. "Excitedly rubs hands on starving ukrainians" It's a free country: you can buy food and eat, and if don't want -- it's your problem. Like in Bengal 1943. "freezing own people in siberia" I'm sure it's not that bad, just look at Japanese Unit 731 -- they tried to deal with it, using various experiments on volunteers. "and committing countless warcrimes" And with this I cannot argue: 27 million of Germans, Romanians, Hungarians, Poles, Italians, Danes, Norwegians, Finns, Frenchmen were killed by these damn commies.

@@Ailasher the 27 million were Russians, Belorussians, Ukrainians, Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian citizens of the Soviet Union of which at least 20 million are civilians killed in the slaughter that the German einzatsgruppen commenced. And if you think the Soviet Union was a “free country” or that the Ukrainians could simply “buy” food you clearly don’t know what you are talking about. Freezing in Siberia is a slightly incorrect term as most gulag prisoners died from hunger
