The Advisors are the ones running the Combine Empire, so therefore, the stryders, hunters, gunships and dropships that we see are some of the species of the Combine. Alyx, Eli, and Dr. Kleiner refers to the Overwatch as "Combine", not "Overwatch". The human synths we fight 90% of the time are just a byproduct of the Combine occupation of Earth. So, the actual invasion of Earth was probably billions and billions of hunters, stryders, dropships, maybe a million Advisors commanding, and possibly several other Combine species (HL newspapers already showed stryders present during the 7-hour war. they wouldnt have known, +I very much doubt that what happened on Earth was an isolated incident. It propably was the most successful one sure, but there's a lot of races out there, a lot of them definetly had far bigger capabilities to revolt, But the combine decided to supress them even further. Their biggest mistake in my opinion, is underestimating Humanity. They beat us in just 7 hours, but they severly underestimated just how resilient and determined we can be to overthrow a regime of this scale. In a result, they completely pulled away from the planet, leaving only some old dipshit nobody in charge, a couple advisors, and a small pack of synths (relative to Combine's sizes). We are also not fully sure if they really cant just do what they did 20 years ago again.

Nice vid, though, personally, I have two things on my mind about the scenario: 1. No previous political leader (Putin, Clinton, Bush, Massoud, etc.) would have survived the Combine invasion and regime. The empire with goal of enslaving other species would not leave enemy rulers alive. On the other hand, a lot of people like Dr. Breen were not the political elite, and had no power and/or charisma to unite the rebels behind them. And they could be manipulated much easier. 2. There can be NO happy end for humanity. The Combine are not as simple as the Stroggs or aliens from War of the Worlds are. There is no hope in the longterm, for they are THE Universal Union. A super empire, spanning multiple galaxies with a force made up of modified slaves who, I'm sure, mostly forgot their origins and old friends. While, in the official lore, there is a sattelite from White Mesa, which prevents another resonance cascade for now, there is unknown number of loyal servants on Earth, and countless legions on the other side. Even if not now, they will return, for they will not stand the defeat and loss of local teleportation technology, which is the top reason they stayed for (the second woould be resource extraction).

I have my doubts humanity would return to pre-war borders, let alone pre-war nations. 14:47 March 2022, human population is 921k, down from 6 billion it was in 2001. How many people lived though that time period, how many did not? Furthermore consider mass relocations happening at the same time shifting population from one region to another practically breaking families apart. Heavy cultural suppression by the Combine would make many, especially younger people, no longer identify or care for whatever culture their parents and ancestors might have been. Instead possibly a One-World Resistance Government, or a para-military dictatorship maybe instead a worldwide league of city-states borne from Combine cities.

My half life and portal timeline and mapping scenario version. 1943: aperture science was established. 1949: Wallace breen was born. 1951: Black Mesa was established. 1957: Eli Vance was born. 1959: Issac kliener was born. 1963: Chell was born. 1964: Arne Magnusson was born. 1970: Collette Green and Gina cross were born. 1976: Gordon Freeman, Barney Calhoun, and Doug Ratman were born. 1988: cave Johnson died. Caroline became CEO of aperture science. 1997: Alyx Vance was born. April 2001: glados killed all of the scientists in aperture science with neurotoxin. May 18, 2001: Gordon arrives late at Black Mesa for the test. The resonance cascade happened after the xen crystal hit the beam opening portals from xen to Earth. Xen wildlife was teleported all over the planet. Gordon destroyed the nilanhth and was placed in the g-mans stasis along with Adrian Shepard. The fates of Gina cross and Collette Green are unknown. Xen invasion (May 18-25, 2001): casualties (2,700) May 23, 2001: the combine discovered earth and portal storms were spread throughout the planet. The seven hour war began. Earth surrenders after Wallace breen negotiated with them to save humanity. Eli died but was prevented after the g-man recruit alyx by destroying the advisor and putting her in stasis. Eli recruits Gordon find alyx. They head to the us after they found out that one human still lives there Chell. They recruited chell into the resistance and becomes part of their team. June 2021: battle against the advisors Chell, Gordon, and Eli head to Antarctica to destroy the advisors and save alyx. Judith has the idea to use both the gravity and portal gun against combine as Eli tries to work the borealis. July 2021: (after the combine was defeated and restoring humanity) After destroying the combine Chell and Gordon helps the resistance members rebuild their cities around the planet. Issac kliener became the world leader. Eli helps Issac kill all the xen wildlife except the vortiguants 2022: Chell and Gordon got married and started having kids of their own. 2050: alyx tells the story about how they restored humanity. Chell and Gordon are happy with their kids after destroying the combine.
