That's the difference between Cleveland and Golden State. Cleveland has a bunch of one-way players who either can't play defense or don't even try to play defense. Golden State has a bunch of two-way players who can play both offense and defensive at a high level, and even with Curry, who isn't the best defender, still gives effort on the defensive end. Curry only gets into trouble defensively when he takes risks and tries to reach and ends up either letting his man go free to the basket or he gets called for the foul.

You can't use them being bored and still tryna integrate all these new players as the two excuses. If this was the same team that went to 3 straight finals then yes you can say their bored. But if you're saying they need to build the chemistry because of all the new players then they shouldn't be bored because they should take the regular season seriously to help integrate the new players and try erasing bad habits. Even though Lebron has been to 7 straight finals its up to him as the leader to show the effort every game and get his team ready for their Western Conference opponent not just coast to the finals.

I don’t think the Cavs are bored. Part of their defensive problems are that Tristan is out with an injury and was already seeing less minutes. Lebron has been a minus on the defensive end because he missed all of training camp and might still have a lingering injury. They are still building chemistry on both ends. They will never be a top 10 defensive team but they are probably a middle of the pack defensive team when they play their hardest on that end. They’re ranked 7th on the offensive end and that is with the chemistry still being developed and missing their all star PG.

To me you can't be bored and claim you're tryna integrate new players at the same time. You can't be bored if your focus is to maximize your offensive efficiency and develop the chemistry as much as possible if you know your defense will be suspect. And even if they had the same team as last year they got smoked in the finals; you're trying to win the championship not just say you got their for the 8th straight time. Especially when there have been no truly great teams in the east in recent history besides the Celtics whose players were close to 35 when they lost.

Dominique Robinson yeah I agree. That’s why I think they are really trying but at the moment they just suck at defense. Nobody knows for sure that they will finish this poorly as a defense. But at the moment their offense is ranked 2nd in offensive ratings and that is with a lot of guys still being cold from deep and not feeling comfortable in the sets. I bet the D moves to middle of the pack by end of December.

This has always been the big issue with LeBron James teams. THERE IS NO HEAD COACH LEADING THE TEAM. LeBron needed a strong coach like a Pop or even a Brad Stevens that can instill a philosophy and have LeBron as the focal point. This is why LeBron in most ppl eyes will never surpass MJ. MJ had a philosophy of the triangle offense that made defensive minded players contribute offensively in a easy flowing set that freed them to defend. Unfortunately for him whenhe went to Miami, Pat Riley didn't take over and run the team. Instead they allowed LeBron and now you see how it looks when a player runs a team. Numbers don't lie.

But I have to disagree cause if they are them that comes from lack of competition in their division, but Boston every day becomes more and more of a threat as they really build up chemistry. How can you not care about the regular season. I've never read of a team that didn't care about the regular season or the first few rounds of the playoffs and then ended up winning the championship. The only teams where media claims they don't care for the regular season is Lebron teams. Because he's went to 7 straight finals it doesn't matter how they do in the regular season because they always have more talent than every team in the conference. How poorly they play in the regular season comes in the FInals where his teams will either get beat to the point never had a chance or they win by the skin of their teeth.
