This “pressure” argument is so weird. Wouldn’t you rather a player keep the game out of reach and never allow it to get close in the 4th. Which is what Steph usually does by finishing teams in the 3rd. Rob has no actual argument so he’s resorting to “no big shots”🤣.
@everestarmstrong7053

Exactly. It’s such a dumb argument. Since Steph’s team take care of busy in the first three quarters he gets penalized for not hitting pressured shot in a close game.

What you have to realise is that people, players, all time greats, analysts are shook, because they didn't see Steph coming. That's what a lot of the hate is about you know. Steph Curry redefined what you need to win a championship. People thought you needed a big wing player or a center. Steph proved all you needed was an all time great PG who is one of the most efficient scorers in NBA history. That's why they try to discredit him at every turn and why he plays with a chip on his shoulder. The media are directly to blame for Steph torching the Celtics in the NBA finals. 31 PPG on 48/42 splits is a bit crazy. Plus Steph isn't athletic, trust me if it was Russell Westbrook/Derrick Rose/John Wall getting all those chips and accolades they wouldn't hesitate for one second to put them top 10 of all time. Think about this, they put LBJ top 2 all time, when he had a 3-6 finals record. They would never do that if LBJ was under 6'5. It's literally because he's short and not athletic that people try to throw all types of bs at him to see what sticks. Take last year for example Steph as the only primary scoring threat, avg 32 PPG on 48/42/91 splits. Dragged a team with no other Allstars on it to the 8th seed. Tell me when Larry Bird, Kobe, Shaq, Kareem, ever did that in that level of efficiency. But all they're going to do is make Steph go 2016 on them again. I predict he gets both the MVP and scoring titles and wins the chip and gets another fmvp. Then their heads will explode.

Rob makes me laugh every time cuz he's so against Curry and as time goes on these video make Rob look more ridiculous. Curry didn't need big shots cuz he's so dominate, when they win, he's sitting down on the bench in the 4th qtr! Every shimmy, every dance, ever ring point, every night, night is an ICONIC SHOT!!! You will see these shots forever! . When you lay down a top ten, you need to agree on common criteria to judge against. If it's just subjective, the discussion will go round and round and round and round!! The media who doesn't like Curry, keeps moving the goal post back, first was, he needs an MVP Finals, now it's about "big shots"- sorry that was the knock against Kobe back in the day. Rob you can have your opinion but that's all it is. If you want to base on actual titles, MVPs, facts and numbers, Curry is top 10.

Without Curry they don't win this series like they did. From the 4th game on it was all Steph Curry more than not. They couldn't find an answer for him, and in turn everything else they tried to do just fall apart. That 3-pointer that he hit in the last game was a critical iconic shot which basically closed the door on the series. This is reminding me of the Derek Jeter commentaries where everyone said that he did this that and the other, though he wasn't a power home run hitter? And all Derek did was hit for a .300 average more or less and won I think five world series with the Yankees?

What else does Rob need to see from Steph? Score a clutch shot down 3 from the halfcourt line? Come back down 30 in the 4th in the finals? Win DPOY, MVP, scoring title, and Finals mvp with a 50/50/95 splits all in the same year? It's getting ridiculous what some analysts are wanting Steph to do just to give any respect.

Wilt had Elgin Baylor and Jerry West as teammates but only won 2 championships. Wilt was notorious for stat padding and the reason is he took way too many shots to boost his points and that's not consistent winning basketball. Wilt's stats drop drastically in the playoffs 30 pts a game on 51% free throw shooting in the regular season, 22 points on 46% free throw shooting in the playoffs. Wilt took 39 shots a game when he averaged 50 points that's just way too excessive. I'm not trying to be harsh I just don't like when people don't include context when they bring up stats and Lebron fanboys are the absolute worst in that category. I'm not saying you're a fanboy I'm just saying in general.

top 5 is more than just being great individual player. you must also be a great team player. your team must have dominated the era. along with amazing, divine, mindblowing team and individual feats that will never be surpassed. top 5 must have tremendous impact on the game, revolutionized the game, beyond accolades and stats. that's why Curry is easily top 5. 1. Curry's Warriors dominated the league for most of the decade, and still not done. 4 rings in 6 finals appearances within 8 year span, hasn't been done in over 20 years. Set new regular season record for wins. A system that even other superstars are envious and enticed to be a part of. 2. Curry has better playoff games winning rate than other top 10 nominees. He has won 69.40% of his playoff games. The next closest is Magic with 67.37%. OTOH Wilt and Hakeem has won only 55% and 52% respectively their playoffs games. In terms of playoff series winning rate, Curry is second only to Russell. Where Russell won 93.10% of his playoff series, and Curry won 84.62%. Again Wilt and Hakeem has won only 62% and 55% respectively their playoffs series. Thus Curry and his Warriors dominated both regular season and post season. Including record-setting 73 wins, and unstoppable 16-1 playoff run. 3. Curry set new records that weren't even in existence until he came along. Most importantly, everybody is changing their game, play style, skill set, in order to try to chase his records. that's revolutionary. everyone, even bigs, centers, forwards, that used to only attack the paint, now must learn to shoot 3s because of Curry's monumental influence. 4. Leadership. NBA is ultimately a team sport. Curry's leadership and charisma fosters a winning culture. A culture that turns a downtrodden franchise into a dynasty.

*Warriors* *Will* *Repeat* *In* *2023* I just looked at the power rankings for next year and I have the same exact top 4: Warriors, Clippers, Bucks, & Celtics. I think the only team who can beat the Warriors are my Clippers but I'm not sure on that. Stephen A. Smith will be correct again. Warriors will repeat. This was the WORST version of the Warriors and they still won the title. They'll only improve with Klay getting his conditioning back. With Wiggins entering his prime. With Poole and Kuminga only improving. With Wiseman returning. Kawhi and PG-13 are MJ and Kobe. They are archaic no different than LeBron, DWade, Melo, KD, DRose, Ja, etc. It doesn't work in this era. I'm not saying Steph is better than MJ or Kobe. I'm only talking their style of play in these current times. But the reason I'm giving my Clippers a puncher's chance is because they have the only coach who has beaten the Warriors whole. Draymond is wrong. They were beaten whole in 2016. He just didn't play Game 5. I'm aware Bogut got hurt but Kendrick Perkins got hurt in Game 6 of the 2010 Finals. Whole as in your core trio. Ty Lue can get his players wide-open threes. They just need to make them. But Kawhi and Paul George are not the shooters of Steph, Klay, and Poole. I'm not sure Norman Powell has the clutch gene in him. He gagged in that play-in. Seems like a nice role player during the regular season like Lou Williams was. A lot of my team might look good in the reg season only to disappear when the playoffs hit. I'm looking at you, Paul George. My Clippers should've been the champs in 2021 if Kawhi didn't get hurt. Clippers must view the Warriors like the Lakers. They must HATE them. If Bucks are healthy, they can return to the Finals. Giannis is the new LeBron in the East. Celtics caught a lucky break with Middleton out. But Bucks also caught a lucky break the year before with Harden hobbled and Kyrie out. If we get Warriors vs. Bucks, I still got Warriors. Bucks are taller but we're talking a dynasty vs. a one-hit wonder. Four rings clearly beats one. It's almost like if MJ's Bulls met Dream's Rockets in 1997 if Stockton didn't make that clutch shot. The rest like the Suns, Celtics, Heat, & Sixers, I see teams that caught lucky breaks the last 2 years. Suns will still be good but they're championship frauds. CP3 will only get older. Looking like they want to get rid of Ayton. Booker and Butler lacks the deep range. Celtics probably won't return to the Finals next year if Bucks stay healthy. Heat just don't have enough firepower. The Sixers are still the Sixers. Annual underachievers. Their best team was in 2019 when they still had Butler and Redick. Won't get out of the 2nd round. Thanks, Doc & Beard. As for the Nets and Lakers? The Nets are trash. Kyrie doesn't really want to be an NBA player any more. Only part-time. He seems content with his 1 ring. And KD is content with his 2 rings. They have a terrible culture like the Lakers do. The Nets as the 2nd choice in the betting is way too high. KD will probably never win another ring the longer he stays with Kyrie. Nets are full of enablers. Wiggins got vaccinated but Nets couldn't convince Kyrie to do it. Weak leadership. The Lakers were just lucky in 2020. Bubble. No fans. No travel. No pressure. A near 5-month break to recharge their bodies only to play another 30 games in Disney World. AD seems content with his 1 ring. He seems lazier than Shaq. Low motor. Who knows if he gets hurt again and again next year? Westbrick is Westbrick. Even if we get LeBron & AD healthy, those guys from the 2020 team are mostly gone. I got them at 7th seed at best which is where Vegas has them. Of course by next week, it will be 95% Lakers talk because LeBron is there. I'm already mapping out how I'll play next year's Finals. Cover the Warriors, Clippers, and Bucks. Then maybe add another 3 more teams when the regular season happens. My top 3 seed angle works. Just grab the top 3 from both conferences and you'll likely hit the Finals like 97% of the time. Top 3 In West 1. Warriors 2. Clippers 3. Grizzlies (Ja = new Westbrick/DRose) Top 3 In East 1. Bucks 2. Celtics 3. Heat As much as I hate the Lakers, if I see their odds really high, I might throw a few bucks on them. Why not? I don't bet with feelings. I hate the Warriors and they just made me close to $900. Need to put all your personal feelings aside when gambling. But again, I just don't see it with the Lakers. They completely fluked in 2020. But I know ESPN will keep talking about them even if they're an 11th seed again next year. Luka might be the next big superstar and superstars usually get the furthest but he'll show up fat and is actually a poor shooter. I'm not too high on the Mavs. Maybe 2nd round but that's it. I still think the Grizzlies are better than the Mavs as a whole. Now expect Skip Bayless to keep hyping the Clippers and Grizzlies but I don't trust the Grizzlies enough. Still too inexperienced. I think Ja is fun to watch but I also think he's another Westbrick/DRose. He plays very dangerous. My Clippers with their experience can knock out the Grizzlies in the playoffs. Put $100 on the Warriors to net $500. They're going to repeat barring no injuries. Steph is a transcendent player that Kawhi, PG-13, Giannis, Jokić, Kyrie, AD, Tatum, Butler, Booker, Embiid, and Ja are NOT. This is the honest truth. We have many stars but there are very few SUPERSTARS. And even fewer transcendent superstars like Steph. THE WARRIORS ARE BACK! And no team is going to stop their bullet train.

Rob will never give curry his credit. If he had missed those layups while Boston was trying to come back rob would say he missed shot after shot down the stretch and allowed Boston back into the game. Hitting those shots was big because it prevented Boston from getting back in the game.

Game 6 Steph scored 34 points but only had four attempts at the free throw line where he was 4 out of 4. The best defense this year in the playoffs and I think 🤔 during the regular season was the Boston Celtics. You mean to tell me this light skin brotha scored 34 points and only had four trips to the line? I’d love to see this statistics from past NBA finals MVP’s to see the number of points in the last game and the number of trips to the free throw line those MVP’s had. I’m sure not on Steph’s level. The brotha is for sure top ten. Easy.

@zeaferjones1404 2 жыл бұрын
You can tell he was emotional because Shaq's big moment is obvious, but he was so flustered because he knows he is wrong about Steph's performance in this finals. Shaq's big moment was the alley oop dunk on Portland in game 7 and although Curry didn't have any moments that big I do think the shot where Gary Payton II passed up a wide open shot to let Curry make a contested shot was Steph's big moment of the finals.

Man...we really got to get the the source of all this Steph hate. The more he accomplishes the more glaring it is to see. After Steph won this Chip and FMVP, several people over the course of the last 3 days have been desperately sweating trying to find SOMETHING new, because they can't process that he actually accomplished the thing they didn't think he could pull off. I wish some of these dudes would be honest beforehand, and just say it You don't believe a person 6'3 and under can be in the top 10 even if they are just as great or greater than someone 6'5 and up, there is this unspoken gatekeeping/bias going on in media when I look at all of the analyst top 10 lists, I think this is going on with Steph currently Just my opinion, feel free to disagree.
