THE ODD COUPLE - Chris Broussard & Rob Parker react to an interview with former NBA player Jame Posey who talked about the pressure of playing alongside LeBron James. Chris notably mentions Kyrie Irving who's talked about that experience and there was a moment when Kevin Love didn't even want to return to Cleveland during his tenure with LeBron.

The pressure is real. The hypocrisy is real. People are saying these things. The problem is that these people are not applying the same standards to players. They say," LeBron made his team better, but they were garbage. MJ didn't make his team better. He had great players. "

Effectively what they're describing is the pressure of being on any title contending team. It was the same for the role players on the Jordan Bulls, the Shaq & Kobe Lakers, etc. You knew what you were getting from Jordan and Pippen and Shaq and Kobe every game, it was up to the rest of the supporting cast to step up and if they didn't they got criticism (most of the time it was well deserved). It's easy to put up numbers on a bad team but a lot of players can't take the pressure of being expected to play at a high level and win

Dude we gotta stop having these discussions with Rob, he can’t help but sound bitter. “Yaaaa it wasn’t fair to Love”. Man then go back to losing in Minnesota SMDH. Evolve your damn game or go back to losing. It’s sacrifices, if you want a ring with another GREAT player, go evolve or stay on your losing team and be the star. Bringing up Harden and Kyrie is ignorant, there wasn’t much adjustment, Kyrie has always been a shooting point guard. Now Harden is the point and Kyrie playing his actual position. YES it’s challenging, but acting like it’s Bron’s fault that Bosh and Love didn’t evolve their play is sad. Haslem NEVER said Bron restricts players, he said it’s tough. And if you put up WEAK numbers, you get called out. That’s NOT a scapegoat....Let’s put Love as the star who can’t get his OWN shot. You’re a PRO. They turned Kevin Love into a stretch big. Before LeBron, Kevin Love was well on his way to the Hall of Fame. I still remember his 30-30 game. LeBron’s teams are partly responsible for the evolution of the bigman. Both Chris Bosh and Kevin Love were underutilized when they swapped teams to build a big 3. Now, nobody cares for the back to the basket big who gobbles up all the rebounds and blocks shots. They want a guy like Jokic who can pass like a PG or Embiid who can shoot from the perimeter and create. Of course there are still big centers who defend the rim and rebound but they don’t become stars and don’t get paid the big money.

The problem isn’t so much the pressure as much as it is the systems. Players have to sacrifice their games to play with Lebron, yet he sacrifices nothing. In 2018, Jae Crowder, Jordan Clarkson, and Rodney Hood all looked like they forgot how to play basketball. But it wasn’t pressure because Jae Crowder shined in the finals with Miami and he’s playing great on the Suns now. Clarkson is a leading sixth man candidate and Rodney Hood is playing well with the Blazers. So it’s not pressure, it’s the system. Playing with Lebron turns you into a spot up shooter. And if that’s not your game, then you’ll suffer. Also Brandon Ingram too.

Yeah he was a dominant ball handler. But you could say the say with harden in the Rockets, westbrook in okc, kyrie in celtics. Except bron was taking you to the finals each year so you gotta accept it. However if you watch bron with the lakers totally different game. Players way more involved

Good isn't playing that well with the blazers. clarkson was a young player that is just now maturing. I don't understand the crowder thing though. Like not much has changed for him offensively. Like a lot of his game is off ball movements with other shooters and moving the ball but with the Cavs he just couldn't make open shots.

What I love about Lebron is that he will put role players and teammates under pressure to hit the last shot because he's afraid to fail himself and doesn't have a reliable go to move to score and won't even drive to the basket in case he would have to hit free throws. His fanboys will say "he was doing the right play" by not taking his responsabilities as a leader and best player on the team to finish the job. Hello to Danny Green, George Hill and others with fans shitting on them because Lebron gave them all the pressure. At least Davis save his ass against the Nuggets when he hit the final shot with a few seconds left to play, because unsurprisingly Lebron was nowhere near in the last play, he was just hiding and praying for Davis to rescue him.
@juicyjay8642

Let’s see, he hit buzzer beaters against Orlando, Chicago, Indiana, and Toronto in the playoffs(and he won 3 of those 4 series), he went 8 for 8 from the free throw line in a tight Game 7 against the Spurs in 2013, and he hit the game sealing free throw against the Warriors in 2016 after Kyrie nearly turned it over, but the media won’t talk about those games or moments. As for the AD shot, it was great, but the Lakers were already up 1-0, so if he had missed it the series would’ve been tied. No real pressure there! The “problem” with LeBron is that he usually finishes teams off early so there’s no need for a late bucket!
